Philips Fidelio M2L Headphones : great headphones but with a but

Amazing sound quality, blow my mind.

Purchased as a test and definitely approved. I purchased them to test the potential of the digital connection compared to the sound quality provided by traditional, stereo jack based, headphones like my b&w p3. I must say that the difference is easy to spot when you listen to your favourite songs, especially when you start exploring the world of hi-res audio files available on dedicated services. The sound has a clarity and an openness that is difficult to get with other headphones.

Great headphones but with a but. I bought these at an airport when i’d left my regular bose at home. So, given that they were a slight impulse purchase, i will admit that i’m surprised at how good they sound. In fact in some ways i prefer the sound to my qc3s. But they do have 2/3 almost fatal flaws1. There is no way to answer a call using them, as they lack a microphone. . Which is sometimes annoying, but less so on a flight2. They can only be used with iphones/ipads via a lightening connector, which for me is not a problem, but still it does restrict them3. I guess because of their integrated electronics which are powered via the iphone, they do tend to reduce the iphone charge a small bit quicker, which is annoying as you cant charge the iphone and use them at the same time (also i guess would be an issue with most battery cases which i think operate via mini usb)but all that said, if you are into the apple world, these are great sounding headphones as good as if not better than my sony mdr-1rs and bose. Noise isolation seems good, well no-ones complainedwear-ability wise, i didnt have an issue, but i have a large dara Ó briain tyoe of head, so found that after a couple of hours wearing them, that my ears felt theyd been in a rugby scrum.

Good first effort with a lightning jack but not perfect. The only apple device i’d buy these to pair with as of 1st september 2016 is an iphone se. There’s a fundamental problem facing these m2l’s and it’s the dac / headphone amp circuit combination in most apple devices. That which lives in the iphone 5s, 6 or 6s – or in an ipad – is really rather high quality and powerful enough to drive a broad range of sub-£200 headphones well, which means it isn’t all that easy to better it. Those of you who know what a flac file is will know that iphones can’t output audio at better than cd quality through their headphone ports. That said, cd quality from a phone is good enough for me and iphones are consistently at or very near the top of their class for mp3 to cd grade audio playback. All an iphone normally needs is a pair of headphones that can do the normal headphone output justice. Almost any sennheiser momentums, for example.

Hi-res listening for iphone. . Great headphones to use in conjunction with your iphone/ipad with lightning connector. These headphones will not work with anything else as there is no jack adaptor available. Due to the built in dac, the sound is one of the best i’ve managed to achieve from a portable device – something i’ve spent a fair bit of time and money on over the years. They sound good when listening to itunes downloads at 256kbs but these cans really come into their own when listening to lossless rips or hi-res music. The sound is very natural and suit all types of music. I’m using the onkyo hf player app to listen to the higher quality music which i can also recommend. You can control volume and track changes etc from buttons on the side of the headphones which are easily accessible and intuitive to use. You can take phone calls but you have to speak into the phone as there is no microphone due to only a digital signal being transmitted up the cable. They are quite tight fitting but this does lead to good passive noise reduction.

Absolutely stunning headphones. Had the earlier fidelios with a regular connector, which got a what hifi 5 star review, then saw an online review of these saying because they took a digital feed from the iphone and used their onboard dac the sound was even better. More detail, and wider stereo soundstage. Stunning headphones for the price.

Fabulous sound – only works with lightning connector devices. I use mine with an iphone 7 plus. The inbuilt dac in the headphones makes a massive difference. Only negative is the cable isn’t very flexible. Philips fidelio audio products are very premium – in quality but not price. Try a pair first – i am sure you won’t be disappointed.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – : Good quality, read for honest review on how they sound!

A bit tight on the head if one is using glasses. Still, highly recommended, especially if bought at a lightning deal.

Just wish they were wireless. Lost a star for faulty cable.

Best audio quality for the price range. Great headphones with just the right balance for mids and lows to experience the real sound of music. The build quality is excellent from a brand like b&o, which i could not expect anything less. I use them daily so can’t really fault them. Sometimes after long listening sessions my ears would ‘hurt’ a bit, but it really depends how you fit them on your head. There is also an inconvenience to wear them with glasses as they are so tightly fit. I would also wish that they came with two cables for both android and iphone.

I absolutely love this product. I absolutely love this product. I bought them for my boyfriend, but unfortunately i have had to return them as he has a massive bulbous head and kept complaining that they were too small. So clearly, if you or the person you are buying for has a head comparible to the elephant man, then these probably aren’t the headphones for you. Sound quality is great though for those with average to small heads :-).

It’s a bit stiff, but it very stable and stays on your head. Sound quality is amazing, would recommend.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – Silver : Great sound quality, poor comfort for glasses wearer. Ok, so as headphones go, these sound great, they have a slightly exaggerated sound signature, which for most people who like bass, will be great. The build quality seems good, and the leather is nice. However – the reason for the 3 stars, is that, as a glasses wearer, these are extremely uncomfortable when wearing them for any period of time (more than 30 minutes). – the auto-adjusting headband means that they are a very tight fit, and the supra-aural design means that large amounts of pressure are applied over the ear, which presses too hard against the glasses frame, and causes headaches in my case. – my glasses frame is quite thick however.

The best headphone i have listened to. This by far, is the best headphone i have owned. I have a few phones since this b & o. Ok, i am not a tight git but at the same time, i am not all for brand and price. I just want a decent headphone that gives crisp sound at a decent price. I recently bought a sony mdr-xb950bt bluetooth premium xtra bass overhead headphone and that was more expensive than the b&o one (due to amazon lightning deal price). After a few months of using the sony one, i couldn’t help to feel that the xtra bass was kind of a gimmick. Not only that, during summer, the sony one, because of the design which is comfortable but it can make the ears feeling rather hot and sweaty. Now, when ears go sweaty, that wasn’t nice. This b & o beoplay, now it feels tight when you try to open it up to put it over your head.

Gorgeous sound, massive design fail head strangler. I own a lot of headphones (maybe i’m never happy?. Lol), and the sound of these is really very very good. ***review edited sep 2016 see bottom***rich deep bass. They’re just terrible terrible impractical headphones. Lovely quality build, high quality feel to them, velvet touch headband, lambskin ear covers. . So why are they so poor to adjust, so tight, and so so so hot?. Absolutely no chance of breathing in these, they will suffocate your ears (within 1/4 inch of their life) like no others. I coveted these for a while, and i still believe they are high quality and ymmv (so go for it of course), but i’m bitterly disappointed at who tested these and the money i’ve essentially wasted – no-one else in my family wants them (‘wow. They’re tight and sweaty’), so might try and ebay them. I have no such problems with my beyer, akg stuff whether on ear or closed. ***edited sept 2016***you know what?.I’m gonna try and put up with the tightness more, as with a better music playing device i now own (ibasso dx80) they really really do sound good, well, they always didi still don’t like the fit and crazy tightness, but the excellent sound quality can’t be ignored, so 3.

Gorgeous design and solid sound. Taking these out the packaging, the quality of these is immediately obvious. Thought they’re plastic, they still feel relatively sturdy and the fabric across the sides and band gives a pleasant rough texture. The ear cups are soft and mean that wearing these for an hour or longer never feels uncomfortable. I picked up the ‘feldspar green’ version of these and they’re a seriously beautiful piece of kit. In terms of sound quality, i’m not audiophile, but i think they sound great for day-to-day listening. They’re nicely balanced – the bass is present but not overpowering and the mids and highs don’t get drowned out at higher volumes. I’ve tried plenty of over-ear headphones in the £200+ range and while these can’t match the most expensive sennheisers or grados, these still sound great and look even better. While they’re not noise-cancelling, they also block out a surprising amount of external sound for on-ear headphones. I picked these up for £100 on an amazon lightning deal which was phenomenal value – they’re easily worth that or a bit more.

Good quality, read for honest review on how they sound. Firstly, packaging of the headphones cannot be scrutinised at all, very nicely packaged. Quality – now i will be honest i do own allot of headphones and earphones, as i love my music and quality sound. This may have some impact on my review and stars rating. Comfort – the headphones are ok when comfort is in mind, they are a little stiff for the first couple of times used but do get looser with less pressure on your ears. The leather pads are soft and very nice to touch, however positioning is some what annoying. I constantly found myself adjusting there position after long use as they do become uncomfortable – not great for long trips. Sound – again as i said i do own allot of headphones. To sum these up with one word they are ‘average’ for the price, people have given them great reviews for sound and they are good but that’s all they are is good. I found them to be a little narrow, lows, mids and highs are all there they just struggle to deliver clarity when compared to other headphones.

Good sound, sturdy and tight fit. Soundwise these are superb cans, i own different sets of headphones, the latest i got was the monster inspiration active noise cancelling and the jabra bluetooth ltd gold edition. I have to say these are at another edge of definition and clarity sound. I have just one remark to say since i wore them on i felt they are maybe too sturdy and feel the pads are pushing a bit too much towards the head. Maybe it is just because they are brand new and they still have to adapt to the custom fit of my head. Thanks to b&o for a nice piece of audio kit.

Best audio quality for the price range. Great headphones with just the right balance for mids and lows to experience the real sound of music. The build quality is excellent from a brand like b&o, which i could not expect anything less. I use them daily so can’t really fault them. Sound quality is great though for those with average to small heads :-).

Wonderful sound small and light perfect for travel. This is the first on ear headphone i’ve bought all the others being over ear. I wanted small light headphones for travel and these are perfect very comfortable just give them a few minutes to blend into the shape of your head. The sound is wonderful with plenty of volume if needed in noisy aircraft. If you want to protect your fold flat headphones may i suggest you look at the accessory house dn 1 pro case sold on amazon its a perfect case.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – Carbon : Beautiful sound and comfortable to wear.

So they had been truly very good worth and the speaker top quality is great. I received these in a prime day value, so they were really very good benefit and the speaker quality is superb. When once again with b&o they search fantastic also, but they allow me down on comfort and ease. I can not use them for extra than half an hour without the need of hurting my ears, a genuine disgrace – just not cushioned plenty of.

Great sound excellent, bad ease and comfort for eyeglasses wearer. Okay, so as headphones go, these audio fantastic, they have a somewhat exaggerated seem signature, which for most people today who like bass, will be wonderful. The make top quality appears great, and the leather-based is good. On the other hand – the explanation for the three stars, is that, as a eyeglasses wearer, these are extremely uncomfortable when putting on them for any period of time of time (extra than thirty minutes). – the auto-changing headband signifies that they are a extremely restricted suit, and the supra-aural design and style implies that massive quantities of tension are applied more than the ear, which presses way too tricky towards the glasses body, and results in complications in my case. – my glasses body is fairly thick having said that.

Excellent quality, browse for straightforward evaluation on how they sound. To begin with, packaging of the headphones can not be scrutinised at all, incredibly nicely packaged. Top quality – now i will be genuine i do possess allot of headphones and earphones, as i appreciate my new music and excellent sound. This could have some effect on my critique and stars ranking. Comfort – the headphones are ok when comfort and ease is in thoughts, they are a very little stiff for the 1st couple of situations employed but do get looser with fewer pressure on your ears. The leather pads are tender and really good to contact, even so positioning is some what frustrating. I continuously observed myself adjusting there position just after prolonged use as they do become unpleasant – not terrific for lengthy journeys. Sound – again as i explained i do possess allot of headphones. To sum these up with 1 term they are ‘average’ for the selling price, people today have supplied them good critiques for sound and they are great but which is all they are is great. I located them to be a little slim, lows, mids and highs are all there they just wrestle to supply clarity when when compared to other headphones.

Wonderful sound small and light perfect for travel. This is the first on ear headphone i’ve bought all the others being over ear. I wanted small light headphones for travel and these are perfect very comfortable just give them a few minutes to blend into the shape of your head. The seem quality is outstanding but i agree with those reviewers who say that they are a tight suit. You end noticing soon after a whilst but you shouldn’t genuinely detect it in the initially place for this reason not a 5 star ranking. If you get an possibility to attempt the fit ahead of you acquire do so. I received them on amazon prime day for £80 so a bargain price for the audio quality but i wouldn’t have compensated more since of the healthy.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – Carbon Blue : Excellent sound – slightly uncomfortable for extended use. Sounds is absolutely excellent. The fit was a bit tight the first hour or so, but more comfortable now after some use. However, i knocked 1 star off the review as they are a bit uncomfortable for extended use.

Superior seem, comfy on ears for extended listening. Good sound, comfortable on ears for prolonged listening, but volume needs to be turned up higher than other headphones (when i listen to my ipod).

Excellent value with great sound and construct top quality headphones, but experienced faulty quantity handle lead (usually truly worth 5 stars). Exceptionally very good top quality headphones for the price. Extremely warm abundant sound but with clarity. Perfect for journey and out of doors use because of to warm seem, consolation and isolates most outdoors seem. 4 stars simply because allow down a bit by defective volume manage direct (one channel cuts out) but no large deal to me for the reason that direct detaches so i changed it wit a nicer one. Equipped direct developed for apple devices but quantity change works alright but no subsequent/ past monitor on android equipment.

Great sound excellent, bad ease and comfort for eyeglasses wearer. Okay, so as headphones go, these audio fantastic, they have a somewhat exaggerated seem signature, which for most people today who like bass, will be wonderful. They continue to be on incredibly snugly, but will not get sore.

Excellent sound – slightly uncomfortable for extended use. Sounds is absolutely excellent. The fit was a bit tight the first hour or so, but more comfortable now after some use. However, i knocked 1 star off the review as they are a bit uncomfortable for extended use.

I’ve been using a pair of b&o h2’s since last nite and feel the overwhelming need to post a race review of these fab headphones, i want to address a couple of gripes i’ve heard elsewhere, i’ve heard criticism that they don’t come with a case, it would’ve been nice but it didn’t bother me, another is the fact they’re made from plastic, they could be made out of cheese for all i care,it’s all about the comfort and sound for me,firstly, they look great, felt a little tight at first but the lambskin leather is very nice and the earpiece is well padded, a very snug fit. Now for the sound, beautiful balance and depth, very rich bass and i’ve noticed little sounds my bose and denon headphones hadn’t picked up, plenty powerful enough and with no distortion, i’ve listened to all sorts on these, it all sounds great, for me miles davis sounded best, rock sounds great and daft punk from the tron soundtrack sounded absolutely stunning, been trying lots of goosebumps, you can pick a pair of these for under £100 no worries, which is an absolute steal, if you’re considering getting a pair, just do it, you won’t regret it.

The finest headphone i have listened to. This by far, is the finest headphone i have owned. I have a number of phones because this b & o. Ok, i am not a tight git but at the very same time, i am not all for manufacturer and price. I just want a decent headphone that presents crisp seem at a first rate price. I a short while ago bought a sony mdr-xb950bt bluetooth high quality xtra bass overhead headphone and that was extra expensive than the b&o 1 (thanks to amazon lightning deal cost). Following a handful of months of working with the sony one, i could not support to experience that the xtra bass was kind of a gimmick. Not only that, for the duration of summertime, the sony a person, because of the design and style which is at ease but it can make the ears experience fairly sizzling and sweaty. Now, when ears go sweaty, that wasn’t awesome. This b & o beoplay, now it feels limited when you test to open it up to set it around your head.

They are on ear but the pads in good shape like tiny cushions so i don’t find them uncomfortable at all. I’m seriously pleased with these.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – : Excellent headphones

They are on ear but the pads fit like small cushions so i really don’t obtain them not comfortable at all. I’m genuinely delighted with these.

A bit restricted on the head if 1 is applying glasses. Nonetheless, extremely advised, specially if acquired at a lightning offer.

Amazing audio smaller and gentle ideal for vacation. This is the initially on ear headphone i’ve acquired all the some others getting about ear. I wanted little mild headphones for travel and these are excellent quite snug just give them a handful of minutes to blend into the form of your head. The sound is great with a lot of volume if wanted in noisy plane. If you want to guard your fold flat headphones could i advise you search at the accessory house dn 1 professional scenario marketed on amazon its a best situation.

Fantastic sound, cozy on ears for prolonged listening. Good sound, cozy on ears for prolonged listening, but volume demands to be turned up increased than other headphones (when i hear to my ipod).

It’s a little bit stiff, but it very secure and stays on your head. Audio good quality is awesome, would endorse.

B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H2 On-Ear Headphones – Green : Best audio quality for the price range. Great headphones with just the right balance for mids and lows to experience the real sound of music. The build quality is excellent from a brand like b&o, which i could not expect anything less. They are excellent – only aggravating thing is storage.

Greatest audio high-quality for the cost variety. Good headphones with just the appropriate stability for mids and lows to experience the genuine seem of new music. The create excellent is outstanding from a brand name like b&o, which i could not anticipate just about anything a lot less. I use them each day so cannot definitely fault them. Occasionally following extended listening periods my ears would ‘hurt’ a little bit, but it really relies upon how you suit them on your head. There is also an inconvenience to put on them with glasses as they are so tightly suit. I would also would like that they came with two cables for both equally android and apple iphone.

Great audio – somewhat not comfortable for extended use. Sounds is totally superb. The match was a little bit limited the first hour or so, but extra at ease now after some use. However, i knocked one star off the overview as they are a bit awkward for prolonged use.

Attractive seem and at ease to don. . Required good headphones for right hello fidelity use. These audio fantastic on rock and classical new music.

Fantastic value with excellent seem and construct high-quality headphones, but had faulty volume regulate lead (if not well worth five stars). Incredibly great quality headphones for the selling price. Pretty warm prosperous audio but with clarity. Perfect for vacation and outdoor use thanks to heat seem, ease and comfort and isolates most outside the house audio. four stars for the reason that enable down a little bit by faulty volume regulate guide (one channel cuts out) but no massive offer to me simply because direct detaches so i changed it wit a nicer one. Provided guide built for apple units but volume adjust functions okay but no next/ prior observe on android devices.

Extremely excellent but regretably i desired the convenience of my past bose all-around ear headphones.

Very good seem, durable and restricted in shape. Soundwise these are wonderful cans, i individual various sets of headphones, the newest i obtained was the monster inspiration active noise cancelling and the jabra bluetooth ltd gold version. I have to say these are at another edge of definition and clarity seem. I have just a single remark to say because i wore them on i felt they are it’s possible way too strong and sense the pads are pushing a little bit also considerably in the direction of the head. Maybe it is just simply because they are brand name new and they still have to adapt to the personalized in shape of my head. Thanks to b&o for a great piece of audio kit.

Wonderful seem, wonderful excellent b&o headphones. These are certainly great bang & olufsen headphones – easily just one of the finest types in the market and make some other greater-conclusion headphones these kinds of as the beats kinds rightly appear rubbish in comparison. Not only are these not high priced, they provide sound high-quality and clarity that could commonly only be expected from headphones a good deal a lot more highly-priced than what b&o are selling these for. They also appear and experience fantastic, and are not as chunky some of the other headphones in the market. The earpieces fold, so it makes packing them easy. I have the black ones and they also go well with official clothes. I’m delighted to individual these and would also advocate them extremely to others contemplating buying these.

Nad HP50 Headphones – – Excellent headphones. Comfy, and the lead can be plugged into either earpiece.

Best money you will ever spend.

Comfy, and the lead can be plugged into either earpiece. . I ordered the white ones, and red ones turned up – however, the sticker on the outside of the box said ‘white’, so the blame lies with the people in the factory who originally packed them, not the supplier. The red ones actually look really nice – it’s a deep-ish red, in not-cheap plastic, if that makes sense. I collect headphones, and have around 30 pairs. These are some of the best i’ve bought. They have something called ‘roomfeel’ technology to give a wider soundstage compared to normal closed-back headphones, which works incredibly well. If you want the isolation of closed-back headphones, but with an open-backed sound, then these headphones are the ones to go for. I read some reviews that complained about the shape of the headband pressing on their heads in weird ways – i had no such problem – i think the widening of the headband actually makes them more comfortable. One outstanding feature that i haven’t seen on any other headphones (though i’m sure there will be others out there) is that the cable can be plugged into either earpiece. It’s a small detail, but can make quite a difference if you’re doing some activity where the cable can get in the way if on one side or the other. The only (very trivial) downside, and is the price to pay for closed-back headphones, is that now the weather is getting nicer, your ears can get rather warm and sweaty. But as i said, that is a common bugbear with closed-back headphones.

I find it more comfortable compared to momentum. Here are the specifications for the Nad HP50 Headphones –:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • VISO HP50 are High Resolution Over-Ear Headphones.
  • Innovative RoomFeel technology
  • Ultra-soft noise-isolating earpads
  • Designed and driven by audiophiles
  • 3-button Apple remote with microphone

Put them on your audition list. Fantastic headphones, really reinvigorated my music. Let’s get this out of the way. Aesthetically i’m guessing it would suit some head shapes better than others. I’ve had a pair of little akg452s for a couple of years, and was prepared to spend some cash to upgrade. Tried a few in-store, including beats and sennheiser momentum, but just didn’t feel the improvement justified the sometimes hair raising cost. The nads immediately just sounded very different to the others i auditioned. Very neutral and wide soundstage. Top end is clear without any harshness, and yet the vocals are rounded and very warm.

Alright but sound a little ‘wooly’ for my liking.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Great bass balance
  • NAD HP50 – where have you been all my life?
  • Brilliant investment with some comfort issues which are easily fixed

Nad hp50 – where have you been all my life?. My oppo pm-3 phones are whimpering away in the corner now. The recently acquired nad hp50 are getting far more ear time than them. These are the best ‘bang-per-buck’ of any ‘phones i have heard in years, and i have spent a lot of money on ‘phones. My listening is now split between senn hd800 for armchair listening, nad hp50 for mobile and around house, and shure se535 where iem use is appropriate. The hp50 have a beautiful rounded mid range (where the music lives) and a well controlled bass. The treble is rolled off slightly and the overall experience is perfect for my needs. Construction is adequate and the goofy headband makes folks smile. One niggle is that the replaceable cable plugs into the lowest point of the ear cup and often brushes against a shirt collar.

. Only downside to these headphones is that sadly you will get used to just how good they sound.

Brilliant balance and the bass is nice in the mix and not over powering like most over the ear headphones.

I think hp50 is best for classical music. Quality of soundhigh definition closed headphone. I think hp50 is best for classical music. Also in rock music hp50 does very good perfomanceconvenienceabout a week when i put it on my head, it’s tight and some pain at temporal area (because i wear glasses)after about a week, no pain. But not very comfordable to wear long time. If nad make another model with focusing to about convenience, that headphone will be a reference. In conculusionhp50 is very good headphone. If you find a closed headphone at middle price, i’ll recommend hp50.
