Good composite to hdmi converter. I needed a composite to hdmi converter and this worked perfectly for my needs. Quality is good and have no problems with it. Output can be switch either to 720p or 1020p and output audio can be taken from hdmi lead or separate audio jack socket.
This is a review for the hdmi to rca / s-video converter. (very fast free delivery – not a ‘prime’ customer). This box offers a very respectable and inexpensive one-box solution for recording hdmi from settopboxes. (recording in hd requires more expense and more boxes to contend with)with this box u can record either via:1) hdmi output from the stb >>tendak >>dvd/hdd recorder (s-video input). 2) hdmi output from the stb >>tendak >>computer s-video capture device (eg. I tested with both sky hd & youview ultra stb’s. Initially i suffered ‘speckles’ from the sky box, but replacing the hdmi cable fixed it. Picture quality is surprisingly good from a high def signal (good quality in = good quality out).
Ok but makes image a bit blurry and slow. Here are the specifications for the Tendak 3RCA AV CVBS Composite & S-Video R/L Audio to HDMI Converter Adapter Upscaler Support 720P/1080P:

An excellent switch that gives your older devices a new lease of life. I decided to go for this switch as i’m still using my old ps2 in my office and it’s a constant hassle to keep switching cables when my son wants to play the wii. The converter turned up very neatly boxed with unit, power and instruction sheet. The instructions are a mix of diagrams and text and simple to follow. In fact all you need do is plug in the power, your chosen device, in this case a ps2 and connect a hdmi cable to the front and you are ready to go. There are two buttons on the front, one for you to choose what you have plugged in (the input) and one to select the quality of hdmi signal you want as output, either 720p or 1080p (both of these are at 60hz). The picture is good with no ghosting or interference you get with some switches and so far there has been no issue. This means i no longer need to switch leads out between the two games consoles and i even have the hdmi lead going into a hdmi automatic switch and there is no problems using it with that. Overall a good and useful little switch that will allow me to use all my older devices with my newer hd tvs. I was lucky enough to get this at a good discount for my chance to review but have based my review on the point-of-sale price and as such would happily purchase another at that price.
Converts an analogue signal into a digital one. . It does all i required, saving me from buying a new dvd player.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Excellent – Five Stars
- Works great with my N64
- For that it works just fine
Amazing saver – allows cromecast. It simple saved my old epson projector, and allowed chromecast to work just fine.
Best n64 picture i have ever got. I’m really impressed by this box. I wasn’t expecting much – just basically a passthrough of sorts. However, it’s gone some way beyond this. I have a pal n64, and s-video to my tv got weird lines on it and so was unusable, so i had to use composite (which is pretty bad on an lcd tv) added to this i recently bought an everdrive 64 which allowed me to play ntsc games in full 60hz. However, my tv didn’t like the true ntsc signal either and i got some bad colour flickering. I could force pal-m on some stuff (for 60hz full screen) but not all. So what the box did was take the s-video signal and then gave a wonderfully crisp and clear signal through hdmi – much clearer than i would have thought possible – i can only suggest that the scaler in this is way way better than my tv is doing. It’s also taking the ntsc signal and passing it to the tv absolutely fine. So what i have is the best looking n64 output i could have dreamed of .
Ideal for connecting new devices to old analogue tvs . I purchased this hdmi to composite converter to enable me to connect my daughters xbox one to her old style analog composite tv in her bedroom. The quality of the converter is fantastic it is made from metal giving it a solid build which is very robust, just perfect for a teenagers room. In the box you also receive a s/video to s/video cable, composite to composite cable, 5v power adapter and instruction booklet. You can switch between s/video output or composite using the switch on the front of the box and pal or ntsc so pretty much every option is covered. I was very easy to install and worked perfectly for my daughters needs. I would recommend this converterwhen writing a review i try to consider what i would like to know before purchasing an item online and this is what i base my reviews on. Been looking for so long for a way to play my ps1 on my pc monitor. Couldn’t recommend this more to anyone wanting to play those old school console’s.
For that it works just fine. I can’t see a massive improvement over the original image. And i’m only using it because the composite sockets on my hd tv have broken, and in needed a way to play my old consoles. For that it works just fine.
Used for my pal n64 with s-video cable and it has improved the picture quality.
I bought this to connect my japanese nintendo 64 via s-video to a fairly new samsung tv which lacks s-video input, even through scart conversion. This seems to be doing its intended job perfectly. Someone else has negatively reviewed this for n64 use; mentioning lag and image tear and artefacts. I’ve been using this for a few hours, using both s-video and composite input for comparison and have experienced no lag at all. The image issues that were referred to are actually a none-issue. The n64 system outputs an image at 240p (i think); it’s never going to look amazing on a modern tv. What this product does is simply allow that 240p signal (and audio) to be sent through hdmi. The image that’s displayed is very crisp, with great colours, and sound seems unhindered by the device. I’d definitely recommend this device if you need to connect an older system to a newer tv that doesn’t already have the necessary inputs.
Received quickly and does the job. Received quickly and does the job. Had to buy a ground loop isolator to stop the pc humbut that was not noticeable with the music playing.
