Canton DM55 2 – Excellent soundstage. No issues as yet with synchronisation

Very decent sound, looks very smart, more minimalist and much less obtrusive than a sound bar. There are however a couple of baffling oddities. Firstly the remote only works if you hold it about 25 to 30 cms. In front of the device (which kind of defeats the entire point of a remote) and every now and again it just randomly switches itself off. I’ve replaced the remote battery twice but there is no improvement, a promised replacement remote never materialised. Neither of these things are hugely problematic though, and i’m generally quite pleased with my choice.

Great sounds and sounds natural. Does not take up a lot of space and looks good below my tvs. I have not had any problems with this lovely product.

Sound reproduction is great.

Almost perfect but still wonderful alternative to separate ‘subs’ and rear speakers. I did exchange the white for the black but both are of equal build quality – we just felt that the black fitted in better for us. Also, purchased when on offer at £249 (nov 2016)wonderful, quality soundbasereplaced a wireless rear speaker surround sound system (one speaker failed)was apprehensive at first but after following the guidance to allow the canton speakers ‘settle’ over a few days, we’ve been 100% deligfhted with the quality of the sound. It’s possible to ‘tweak’ both the bass and the treble and the choice between stereo and surround makes a very noticeble difference on most films. Volume is way more than enough than we need or will ever use. Quality sound, though should be balanced and have sufficient ‘separation’ between full on bass and full on treble (i’m also sounding as if i’m very knowledgeable. I’m not, but i enjoy quality audio) to my ears, the canton does provide super clarity and ‘separation’ so that the spoken word or singing isn’t battling against ‘mushy’ ( it’s a persoanl technical term) background. It fits perfectly under our 4 legged samsung 40′ tvthe remote controler is re-assuringly ‘weighty’ and cleverly but simply designed. Well, a key reason we selected the canton was bluetooth. Perhaps we’re missing a setting choice but if we have bluetooth enabled on either phone or ipad, the canton seems to prefer that source to the tv (or dvd) source and has occasionally ‘switched’ from tv if we have begun using the devicewith bluetooth switched off on phones and ipad, there is absolutely no problem. We have set the canton to use tv as default source but we may well be missing some nuance setting. If i do find it, i’ll update this review (and will most certainly up the canton to 5 stars)if you find this report helpful, please like.

A beautiful looking device, sleek and discrete and packs quite a punch with clear and well defined sound. It’s so much easier than fiddling around with a huge av receiver and the innumerable wires and extra speakers. One mark deducted for lack of a decent display on the front panel, and also the remote is not particularly sensitive.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Excellent soundstage. No issues as yet with synchronisation
  • Good product when working
  • Good piece of kit works well with my 42 inch

Very easy to install and operate. Apart from adjusting your tv to recognise the sound output, very easy to install and operate. Good rich sound – mumbling a thing of the past.

Fantastic sound, although speaker broke after 13 months. Does what you want and more, although i must say that the right speaker stopped working after only 13 months. No problem though because amazon agreed to exchange at no cost.

Classy looking soundbase with a richly powerful and adjustable sound. The soundbase option seems to be becoming an increasingly popular choice, despite being a relative newcomer in the tv audio market. This is the best sounding smaller base i have heard to date and, more importantly, one that gives the user a good amount of control over the settings, is easy to use, and i have happily shed a load of cables and separate speakers etc to accommodate it. The base is entirely black (silver and white options are available), very well built with a sleek black glass top. 3cm deep, just a tad over 7cm high (including the four shallow feet it sits on) and 55cm wide. The front speaker mesh is hard and classy looking, sitting behind which is a very well designed display panel. This has very clear (and large) blue text which makes it satisfyingly easy to see what options you are selecting with the remote, but otherwise shows nothing other than a feint, very small green light when in use or red one on standby, so nothing to distract the viewer at all. The display also conveniently displays the sound from the source when changing tv channels (e. The remote is one of the best i have seen for a tv sound system and very well built (solid and chunky) and simple and easy to use (cr2032 battery is included). Bass & treble can independently be adjusted to -6 to +6db, but i found the default setting pretty much spot on. There are also three settings to slightly adjust sound direction according to whether your tv sits right on the base, or the base is on a rack below or below a wall mounted tv. You can, with one button on the remote, switch between standard stereo and surround modes in an instant. You can also, using the infra red learning options, easily pair functions such as sound volume, on/off, mute, source etc with your tv standard remote. When i paired volume control with my samsung standard remote, the volume indicator appeared on the base display, not the tv screen. There are three cables provided in the box including a toslink digital optical, another digital coaxial connection to hook up a dvd or bd player etc directly if required, and an rca analogue connector. There is also a sub out port for a subwoofer if required. There are no hdmi connections, but if you already use your tv as a hub with dvd/bd, games console, set top box etc already hdmi connected to your tv, this means that all you need to do is plug in the digital optical cable from the sound base to your tv, change your tv speaker from tv speaker to audio out/external speaker and that’s it – it literally takes just a couple of minutes out of the box to set up and play.

Tips for getting the sound base working correctly. Tips for getting the sound base working correctlybelow is a short guide which should help you access voice and hotel settings. Press and hold the ‘sound’ button on the remote control for at least three seconds. ‘lip’ will show up on the display. To adjust lip sync, use the volume ‘+ or -‘ keys to toggle up or down in steps of 10ms. Press the ‘sound’ button briefly to move to the next function. ‘sub’ will show on the display. To switch the subwoofer output on/off, use the volume ‘+ or -‘ keys. Press the ‘sound’ button briefly to move to the next function. ‘eq’ will show up in the display.

Needs to be turned right up beyond 65% to be audible for some reason. Other than that highly recommended.

Very happy with this bad boy. The bass is epic from such a discrete box. Nice weight remote and good inputs including bluetooth streaming. At times it feels as though the midrange takes a back seat but this could be the source material.

Bought this after briefly searching online for a good sounding tv companion with the talent to combine as our main living room sound system. . Or the mrs can’t stand loads of wires and seperate sub’s (like mine) then this makes perfect senseit’s simple to set-up, one plug into the wall and one into the back of the tv. Easyvisiting friends at yours can utilise the easy-peasy bluetooth connection and be listening to quality sound in seconds. Research and research and research if you must. The dm55 has won lots of awards and plaudits.

It sounds amazing, with a subtle but deep bass. I have this set up in my bedroom, and it couldn’t be easier to use. It sounds amazing, with a subtle but deep bass, and every voice sounds super clear.

Canton DM55 2.1 Virtual Surround System – White Glass : I love that i can also use it as a high. Bought the canton dm55 soundbase in silver glass and it looks stunning (for a speaker that is) on my built-in shelf rather than under my tv. I am not technical (i didn’t even open the manual) and the setup took 10mins from unpacking it from the box, plugging in the power cable and connecting the digital optical cable (which comes supplied) from the unit to my 40″ samsung led tv and that was it. I love that i can also use it as a high quality speaker to play music from my iphone and ipad via the bluetooth feature. The remote control unit is about the size of a mobile phone and solidly built, but is so easy to use as it only has 10 buttons to control and setup the soundbase given it’s compact size, the sound of this unit is really, really impressive. Dialogue and speech in films, documentaries, news and shopping channels is so clear and crisp and there is no distortion whatsoever if you wish to crank up the volume, which was always the case with the built-in tv speakers. No additional sub-woofer is needed as the room was shaking from the deep, rich, bass tones when my husband watched “thor” and other action films. He was convinced and amazed by the virtual surround sound coming from such a small unit. The canton dm55 sound quality definitely wins hands down over our yamaha hty750 sound bar that stopped working (yep, i thought it would last longer than 6 yrs and it took almost a day to setup the sound balance correctly ). If you’re looking to upgrade or improve the sound of your tv, definitely give this a go.

This is just what i needed – the sound is good although not ever so ‘surround sound’. It is very easy to set up and the sound is more than enough for a medium sized room. The sound is clear, with dialogue much better than the normal flat screen tv speakers and when it comes to deep sound it is tight and well controlled. All in all i feel this was a really good purchase and i am well pleased with it.

Samsung HW-E551 310W 2 : HW-E551 310W 2.1 Channel Soundbar with Active Subwoofer review

Invested in this after purchasing a new samsung led tvvery impressed with the sound quality. Switches on when tv is switched on and shuts down approx 20mins after tv switching off or you can switch it off. Various settings depending on what you are watching or listening too.

Sounds amazing and so easy to set up, you will need an optical digital cable with this item if you do not have sky or cable tv.

  • Wireless connectivity means no loss of quality with no wires between the soundbar and subwoofer
  • Surround and 3D Depth sound effectis delivered to every corner of your room, with the benefit of fewer speakers and no wires

Samsung hw-e551 310w 2. 1 channel soundbar with active subwoofer review. A reasonable set up for what i needed at a reasonable price but the sound quality did not blow me away as some reviews led me to believe it would. After the experience of my old panasonic 5. 1 surround sound dvd system which it replaced, i was left a little disappointed with the 2. 1 sound and the lack of quality. Dont get me wrong, my samsung smart tv does sound measurably improved with this soundbar but could be a lot better. The huge sub-woofer unit must be placed next to the tv as it requires a wired connector. A good feature is the lyp-sync adjustment but the volume auto-leveler is hopeless. This is supposed to stop the volume going up when the adverts come on but the result is a constantly annoying subtle change in voice volume levels when watching a film so ended up turning this off. I would definitley advise anyone to go and listen to several systems before buying and do not trust reviews.

Amazing quality speakers the best i’ve ever owned. Amazing quality speakers the best i’ve ever owned, handy thin satellite speakers for a desk and a powerful sub-woofer for all the bass you could need.

Generally i really like the sound-bar but don’t buy one thinking it will replace a full surround sound system. It looks great and the blue tooth connection for the iphone is a really nice touch for playing music. The samsung hw-e551 sound-bar is a great buy if you want better sound but don’t want crazy amounts of wires everywhere or the expense of buying a wireless surround sound system. If you’re renting for example and likely to move etc. I would strongly recommend this product to you.

I bought this samsung product to match my 46 inch smart tv. I read the reviews before i made my purchase. Yes the product description is a little misleading but im no wiring expert but i managed to wire it up without the instruction book in five mins. This product is the biz wire it up via optical cable and the sound is awesome. If you play about with the multitude of sound options its sounds ace. Cant fault this speaker system love it.

Ok but very much a mid range sound system. Its a step up from the flat, constrained sound we get with our state of the art new tvs but i got hold of this system for half price – (new) nevertheless. Glad i didn’t pay the full £300+ because it does lack high end treble and i’ve had to tweak settings by keeping my tv speakers on with bass off to create some equalisation and balance. Very much a mid-range sound system and most of the pre settings sound very similar. Handles bass ok and suggestions it doesn’t go low enough are probably from users who live in rooms of over half an acre.

Like many people i purchased this in the belief that it was wireless. As i plan to hide the subwoofer in the far corner of the room (it’s huge) i now need to buy a 7 meter optical cable to run from the subwoofer to the tv. Most people would assume that wireless means that no wiring is required between the subwoofer and the speakers; this is not the case and is very misleading. The look of the soundbar is just what we wanted however, nice and sleek and simple looking but it’s disappointing that when i went to install it i find that i need to purchase another, much longer optical cable.

Received the item – very well packed. Plenty of polystyrene and cardboard for the local tipthe setting up instructions left a little to be desired. It took over 2 hours to get it working – we were plugging the sound outlet into the tv and it should have been in the sky box. Seems simple enough, but i am not au-fait with leads, inputs, outputs, so a little more plain talk on the instructions would have been welcomed. Also, as stated before, this is not wireless. The sub woofer is at the back of my tv and i had no problem with the wires and cables and hiding them – it would be a nightmare if you have a wall-mounted tv. All in all, pretty good value, even though i had to buy two leads in addition, costing another £30.

Made my samsung es8000 sound out of this world it’s like being in the cinema the bass is brilliant would recommend to anybody.

Great sound, easy to use, looks awesome and plays iphone through bluetooth. The sound is great for the money, however, when playing through bluetooth you can at times hear distortion. But i imagine it does not help that i am streaming spotify and playing it through bluetooth. For a much better sound you can connect through an audio jack lead. But having the bluetooth option is very convenient when i’m listening on the go or streaming from my macbook. I have it set up as a sound bar and it looks very cool. Blu-rays sound great through 3d sound and the base is really good. I can imagine that the confusion over the subwoofer being advertised as wireless is frustrating, as the sound bar is the only wireless part. As i have my tv on a stand it does not cause any problems. Overall, i think that it does lots of things very well and after listening to many in the store, i feel that for the money this is probably as good as they get.

I still haven’t resolved a problem connecting the sub-woofer via hdmi to a samsung tv. The only way i can get the soundbar to work is by connecting the sky box to the aux port on the woofer. The configuration is: sky box, blue ray and soundbar all hdmi connectected direct to the tv port. The soundbar port recommended in the installation guide is ‘hdmi out’ i also swapped the sky box hdmi lead with the sub-woofer hdmi lead to ensure there wasn’t a faulty lead. Ignoring the connectivity issues the sound quality is ok but not as dramatic as i expected.

LG Electronics LG SJ5 Soundbar – : Improves sound quality, but no discernible difference in functions.

Improves sound quality, but no discernible difference in functions. . I have been sceptical about the need, and efficacy, of soundbars, especially since trying one some months ago which didn’t live up to its promise and was returned for refund. This one by lg, however, does make a difference to the quality of the sound. Whether it’s the addition of the sub-woofer – which the other one didn’t have – i don’t know. Connecting to the television – mine is, coincidentally, an lg model – is easy, once you have acquired the necessary digital optical cable because, surprisingly and annoyingly, lg do not supply one. For a device which retails at £199, the lack of this cable, which costs as little as £3. 00 is just mean and illogical. However, it is simply a matter of connecting the cable to the tv and the soundbar and plugging it in. Plug the sub-woofer in to the mains and pair it to the soundbar. Hey presto – or so we thought.

The first sound bar i have purchased, sounds really good, especially for my mother who is hard of hearing and she couldn’t believe it when she could actually hear the tv and music again. To connect i used a hdmi cable from my samsung tv. Took minimal effort to set up, about 10 mins to set up overall, the bass speaker connected automatically to the main sound bar much to my delight, i actually wasn’t convinced it had done it so i spent unnecessary time checking the instructions just in case. The reason i have not rated it 5 stars is because the bluetooth connectivity isn’t the best, i connected my phone to play music via bluetooth, but every 10 seconds or so it cuts out the music for a split second, or even longer which is a bit irritating.

Quality is fantastic but colour looks dark grey and not as silver as in the picture. Thr soundbar is not exactly what it looks like in the picture and is more of a dark metal grey colour rather than silver.

Amazing piece of technology that i never knew i needed, superb engineering as with all of lg products, for me they are now far above their rivals in both engineering excellence and cost, unbeatable value. Be warned though, this item is much larger than we anticipated, best suited to the truly big tvs like over 45′ and with sufficient room space for the width of the bar. Lesson: always read the specification and measure your space.

Very good product, a real pleasure to listen to the tv.

LG SJ5 Soundbar – Silver : Very good product, a real pleasure to listen to the tv.

Absolutely spot on – best buy for a long time, would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone thinking about it. We mainly sought greater volume for when watching box sets & films – this product delivers that and more, haven’t managed to stay in same room to test how high the volume goes.

My main complain: lack of feedback on soundbar and subwoofer volume level, there’s a ‘led will blink slowly/stays on for 2 seconds when min/max volume has been reached’ which is ridiculous, there’s enough space to have placed a simple led display. I have an lg tv so i’m using soundsync to control the volume level using my tv remote, but without that it’d be just a guessing game. Also, ridiculously short power cable for the soundbar. In general i’m satisfied with the quality of the product, except for those two things and. It was so easy to include an optical cable for the price we’re paying for this lg, come on.

Excellent quality for an entry level soundbar. This soundbar has a good sized set of drivers, but the design is neutral and discreet, so should sit well alongside any tv or monitor. The inclusion of an active subwoofer is a welcome touch for a system at this price point, and delivers very reasonable bass. The quality of the sound is generally pretty good. At first i found the midrange a little hollow but quickly adjusted. The soundbar has three main presets, but there isn’t much to discern them. The asc mode is meant adapt to the sound as it plays, and it is possible to notice the bass adjusting briefly when the audio starts. In theory this should make dialogue sound clearer, but in practice i still find myself manually turning down the subwoofer for speech-heavy content, skype calls etc. As an entry-level system, the soundbar doesn’t have a particularly sophisticated display on the front, so if you regularly switch between functions this could potentially be a source of confusion, and not having a visual indication of the volume is not ideal. Ultimately though, this isn’t an unforgivable sacrifice for a cheaper system such as this.

Pro:- easy setup- very good sound (we haven’t gone above mid volume yet – we live in a flat and we like the neighbours)con:- bluetooth pairing does not need a security code, this means anybody can connect to it. If you leave in house of flats, i suggest to turn it off for the night as you don’t want to wake up when the kid next door is playing with it.

Quality is fantastic but colour looks dark grey and not as silver as in the picture. Thr soundbar is not exactly what it looks like in the picture and is more of a dark metal grey colour rather than silver.

This sound bar was purchased for the soul reason to pair wirelessly with my lg 4k tv which it does. The sound is fantastic it’s like being at the pictures with all that bass booming out. The one fault that this product has is that it has a lip sync issue when watching anything other than the built in tv tuner i. Amazon, netflix, youtube or even my lg bluray player have an issue with the lip sync of about +/- 300 ms which is very annoying. I can get around some of the problem by playing through vlc player app and tuning lip sync manually but it’s annoying that a supposedly compatible item would have such a problem. But after all that i still decided to keep it because. . Well when i get it set up manually it’s really great.

A well priced quality sound bar. Sub woofer gives great bass and is so neat being wireless to the sound bar. Only 3 cables needed, 2 of which are the power and the third the optical to the tv, surprisingly not supplied but you can buy them cheaply. Would definitely recommend, as good as other top branded makes. Looks great with my matching lg tv.

Canton DM55 2 – Good powerful sound!!

Very happy with this bad boy. The bass is epic from such a discrete box. Nice weight remote and good inputs including bluetooth streaming. At times it feels as though the midrange takes a back seat but this could be the source material.

Very easy to install and operate. Apart from adjusting your tv to recognise the sound output, very easy to install and operate. Good rich sound – mumbling a thing of the past.

Here are the specifications for the Canton DM55 2:

  • Enter your model number

  • This 6-driver design transforms TV and movie sound, plus offers wireless music playback.
  • Sleek, glass-topped soundbase sits discreetly under your flatscreen TV
  • Ideal for larger rooms and flatscreens
  • 6 drivers: 2 tweeters, 2 midrange, 2 subwoofers
  • 2.1 channel amplification with 200 Watts system power

A beautiful looking device, sleek and discrete and packs quite a punch with clear and well defined sound. It’s so much easier than fiddling around with a huge av receiver and the innumerable wires and extra speakers. One mark deducted for lack of a decent display on the front panel, and also the remote is not particularly sensitive.

Good piece of kit works well with my 42 inch. Good piece of kit works well with my 42 inch panasonic tv. Bigger tv’s would be unlikely to fit on top of it as it is very compact.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Excellent soundstage. No issues as yet with synchronisation
  • Good product when working
  • Good piece of kit works well with my 42 inch

It sounds amazing, with a subtle but deep bass. I have this set up in my bedroom, and it couldn’t be easier to use. It sounds amazing, with a subtle but deep bass, and every voice sounds super clear.

Needs to be turned right up beyond 65% to be audible for some reason. Other than that highly recommended.

I’m on my 3rd canton dm55 now because the first two developed faults. Luckily amazon’s customer service is top notch and they have replaced both faulty units no questions asked.

Great sounds and sounds natural. Does not take up a lot of space and looks good below my tvs. I have not had any problems with this lovely product.

Panasonic SC-ALL9EB-K 80W Powerfull Multi Room Speaker : A huge improvement on the All-8.

Looks great, shame about the sound. . This speaker looks fantastic – it’s fairly bulky but looks great on the shelf, very minimalistic with subtle buttons along the top of the device. You can connect via bluetooth or wifi and run spotify through it – if you’ve got premium you can also use your phone/laptop as a remote, which i really liked. Connecting to wi-fi is quite easy, just need to download the panasonic music stream app. Similarly, connecting via bluetooth is quick and painless. I also liked that you can set it up as an internet radio, with six presets. The only thing for me is the sound quality which lets it down (and is fairly crucial when it comes to a speaker). I found it to be a bit muffled unless you were sat directly in front of it – not much use if it’s in the corner of the room. It does go quite impressively loud though. Other reviews haven’t mentioned the sound issue, so perhaps i’m missing a setting or have a defective unit.

All8 with added features (and hopefully added reliability). ==getting my rant out the way==i have an existing panasonic allplay speaker network, so this expanded this nicely. However, having been badly burnt in the past by panasonic, and the faults in it’s first generation sc-allx units, and their whitewashing of the problem, it’s really hard to want to have anything to do with panasonic ever again. But hey, i am essentially locked in via existing technology purchases, so have little choice in that matter. ==overview==this is essentially a reworking of the fatally flawed all8 wireless speaker, adding 2nd generation features like the preset buttons, and restreaming from aux-in and bluetooth, and nfc touch. All these features really take this unit to the next level and the preset buttons are a game changer, meaning once setup, you don’t need to use the (still clunky, but much improved) panasonic music streaming app. ==sound quality==the sound quality from this unit is superb, really is top notch and hard to fault. And unlike sonos, allplay supports 24/96 uncompressed flac, means you really can throw hd audio at this and it sounds superb, you really won’t be disappointed by the sound quality. The other area in which allplay excels, is in room-room latency, which is substantially lower, meaning better sync between speakers (and in my experience, much less change of loss of sync). Allplay really is the platform of choice for people that care about music quality.

  • Bluetooth Wireless Technology
  • Send Music from Smartphone / tablet to other ALL connected speakers

As other reviewers have observed, this speaker is big, so make sure you have room for it by checking dimensions against available space(s) before ordering. It’s not something you will carry around with you. I have no other panasonic devices so i’m comparing it to my little bose soundlink bluetooth units. I wouldn’t say that the sound from it is better than the bose. Bigger, but not better in its detail, if you know what i mean. The music streaming app from panasonic is much improved as long as you are playing music already on your phone. Last time i tried one of these units, if you were playing music via it, then the app didn’t allow me to access the internet simultaneously. So far i have only streamed radio, but no problems so far.

A huge improvement on the all-8. . Firstly, it looks dead smart. The front cover is a fine smooth mesh made of material, rather than plastic. The quality of the rest of the speaker is excellent. Can get very loud when using wi-fi, which could obviously be amplified even further if you use the multi-room feature (connecting several units). Love the pre-set internet radio feature, the buttons are intuitive. Comes with an extra piece to enable secure wall-mounting. This is a great looking piece of kit which i feel will still look good in years to come.

Worth it if you can get it cheap enough. The rrp for this is over £300 and it’s certainly not worth that, especially as you can get a decent rig for half that. But if you shop around you may find it reduced in which case it’s worth a go. Despite what some others say, i quite like the way it looks. The controls and inputs/outputs are simple and straightforward to use. The wi-fi is easy to set up after you download the unit app and the instructions are straightforward enough. It copes with bluetooth and internet radio, the sound is good especially on the bass end and you can even hook it up by cable to a hi-fi system to cover all bases. But only at the right price.

Panasonic SC-ALL9EB-K 80W Powerfull Multi Room Speaker : Love it, wife friendly presets, no faffing. Been hunting through sonos, sony, chrome cast audio to find something that meets all our family needs. The all9 does it all, great sound, easy to use with 6 internet station presets, an aux to plug anything you like in and an ok app, its easy enough to use, not sure what all the moaning is about on here. Talking of moaning on here, set up was a doddle, press a button on unit 4secs, press wps button on side of router done, took no more than a minute. Very happy boy will be buying more units to build this set up, although you really don’t need to, sounds awesome.

This is such a difficult review to write. I’m trying desperately not to compare it to the rather disastrous all8 that basically stopped working after a couple of years. This all9 has certainly been improved. The added presets for radio are a good feature as is the addition of blue tooth, however the main problem is that it still needs to function with the incredibly clunky panasonic app. It’s just not slick enough compared to the device. To be honest, i’ve given up trying to stream my music and just use it for radio and spotify. If only there were more competition on the controller front,it’s an attractive enough piece of kit, in a black rectungular sort of way, and the quality of sound is exceptionally good, rich, deeep and fills the room nicely. It was easy to set up and recognised all our software on our devices from the all8. It’s certainly an improvement but i really feel that on the next upgrade panasonic should really overhaul the software to provide an easier user experience.

Definitely needs a rethink of the required apps to match the quality hardware. This is a tough one to review. Having tried this speakerbox out in a number of different ways of using it, i can certainly say it is gutsy. Clear top notes and an effective bass with its multiple speakers inside the cabinet. Panasonic is a stablemate of technics in japan so i would expect nothing less. Firstly as an experiment i tried the aux in with a cable to a pc soundcard and was rewarded with exceptional performance using it that way. Bluetooth performance is also quite good. There is a little loss when sending music to it that way from a device or computer, but it is effective and could easily pay its way as a soundbar for a high quality tv. We have a recently purchased panasonic tx-49dx600b tv in the family so a test there also produced good results.

Panasonic multi room speaker. . This panasonic multi room speaker is an impressive bit of kit. Straight out of the box this was easy to set up and once i had my streaming app open on my phone this sync-ed up and i was playing music in no time at all. The sound is very bassy and it is definitely aimed at more modern music, but the sound overall was very good and handled a mixture of blues, rock and metal that i normally listen to. It was compact enough to be unobtrusive and yet big enough to provide an adequate sound spread.

Fantastic speaker, terrible app, horrendous user interface. . Very mixed feelings about this speaker. On it’s merits for sound quality, it’s a solid 5 stars, but for everything else it just lets itself down. First off – what the hell is this thing?.Well, it’s sort of like a bluetooth speaker on steroids. You can set it up to connect directly to any internet radio source you want, and by using multiple all-play speakers you can then stream music, simultaneously, throughout the house. You can also do things like be listening to music on your headphones though your phone while out and about, and then seamlessly continue the music through your allplay speakers as you come home. Or, you can use it as a bluetooth speaker. The big, big problem with this gorgeous sounding device is the app. I’m no neophyte when it comes to internet of things.

Panasonic sc-all9ebk mulit room speaker – hardware spoilt by software. The others reviews present have really hit the nail on the head about the contradictions of this pansonic speaker. So a short review to summarize the experience of this user, which appears to resonate with others. Pros* the sound quality is good. It handles bass well, has a great low end and whilst some speakers have a vibration problem it cannot be detected on this product. If your view of a product is conditioned by what you get then there is real substance present. (but see below)* the fact that this is a wireless and a bluetooth speaker is very useful. Connecting with wireless does tend to give it more range around the house and can be more stable than bluetooth. * the presence of an aux connection with a lead also allows you to connect this by cable to older devices.

LG Electronics LG SJ3 Soundbar – : security design gap

Lg do it again ( well for me anyway) this compliments my new 43′ ultra hd lg smart tv. I bought this because as smart as my new tv is, the sound was muffled, levels varied immensely. The dynamic audio software in the sj5 does a great job of matching and balancing the audio to the video content. The added bonus of wireless subwoofer, gives one the opportunity to place it somewhere other than smack bang in front of the tv.

This was relatively easy to set up. We’ve noticed a marked improvement in sound, and our tv was pretty good as it was.

Very good product, a real pleasure to listen to the tv.

I have a 4k philips tv and the sound is awful. Brought this and it’s a massive difference. Wireless subwoofer is really handy also. After reading the reviews i was sceptical as to whether i could mount this. Rest assured there are 2 brackets in the box. Screws are in with the instruction manual. The brackets attach underneath the soundbar. Tv also controls the sound of you run it through hdmi arc.

LG SJ3 Soundbar – Black : Sounds ok but functions are limited in practice. As a tv sound bar this works ok. Attached to my samsung tv via an optical input lead (nb the sound bar comes without one of these) the sound is good and the woofer certainly provides good bass notes. It is very helpful to have separate controls on the supplied remote control for both overall volume and a separate control for woofer volume. There are various settings (assc, standard and cinema) but to be frank the difference is difficult to detect unless you have the volume levels high. The reason for giving only three stars are as follows:a) the supplied set up instructions are brief to the point of unhelpfulness. If you want the full manual you have to download this from the lg website;b) the setup instructions imply that you need to go into your tv settings to get it to recognise catherine sound bar. On my samsung this was a pointless exercise. The sound bar worked on connection but i needed to reduce the volume on the internal tv speakers to avoid echo. C) neither lg’s sound sync app, nor the bluetooth app works with apple phones, only android.

Absolutely spot on – best buy for a long time, would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone thinking about it. We mainly sought greater volume for when watching box sets & films – this product delivers that and more, haven’t managed to stay in same room to test how high the volume goes.

I’m using this with my sony tv 📺the set up was instant- though i do think that there should have been an optical audio cable included in the box rather than relying on you already having one/buying one. Looks wise it is sleek and modern- very well styled. Sound wise it made a massive difference, you don’t really know you need one of these until you switch it off after using itthe sound quality was brilliant- crystal clear and sharp. Bluetooth worked well and we were able to play music on this direct from our iphone without a problem. What i didn’t like was that after buying this you then have to buy a cable ( if you don’t already have one, as i mentioned earlier) and a mounting bracket ( i appreciate it could go on a shelf under the tv, if you have one there, but you see the cables this way and it ruins the effect).

Not especially clear as i’d hoped but a perfectly good soundbar. Dialogue not especially clear as i’d hoped but a perfectly good soundbar nonetheless.

Great value, bass is excellent, no problems with wireless sub.

Stop moaning you moany people. Enhanced audio is better than tv sound. Plays nice with my kodi box via optical. Tv output via phono is fine for a 2. Hapiness when bluetoothed to my phone, deezer flow on (purchased separately) and a nice cup of tea. For the money this is a great product. Uncomfortable for listening to dialog. Getting a lot of popping from the sub during conversation which is very distracting. This is the first soundbar i’ve bought and at the moment i’m not seeing the benefit.

I like using it both for music and podcasts.

Best thing i could of bought very happy money well spent.

This soundbar is good enough for small to medium sized room, the surround and stereo sound aren’t bad but don’t expect cinema quality, the subwoofer could be better, it’s not in tune with the music, sometimes it blasts in the wrong moment, works better when i turn it to minimum or you can just disconnect it. If you want top quality sound system, you have to spend at least a couple hundred pounds. This one is good enough for me and it’s not bad value for money.

Cello tooth Soundbar : Better than expected

Very happy with the sound bar. Bluetooth is great can play music from my phone around the house.

Inexpensive solution to my problem. Good piece of kit, very simple, but it does its job for me. I bought it so that the sound from my wall mounted tv didn’t blast through my neighbours wall the sound quality is as good as but no better than the integral speakers it bypasses. I am only able to use it when plugged into the headphone 2. This has proved to be a cheap and effective solution to my neighbours wall issue. The seller has been courteous and helpful too.

Very happy with it best buy. Same make as my tv my son now buying one as well the sound on it is very good a must buy.

Improves sound on small tv’s only. I bought this sound bar to improve the ‘tinny’ sound on my 26′ cello slim led tv which is fitted in my kitchen. It has improved the sound & therefore justifies the low price of £39. I also tried the sound bar on my 42′ sony bravia in my lounge only to find that the sound quality was worse, so maybe this gives readers some guide as to its limitations. There is little bass sound from this sound bar & certainly wont provide a ‘cinema’ sound system. Having the bluetooth link enables the convenience of playing music from ‘smart phones’ which is a nice feature. Overall i think its worth the £39 but only if you want to improve the sound of a small slim tv.

Definitely improved my sounds brought more clarity not a lot of bass to it but might add a woofer somehow. All in all you get what you pay for i consider it to be good value for money.

Cello Bluetooth Soundbar : Good sound quality for the price only disadvantage i found is that it is on the same frequency as my tv and therefore every time i turn the telly over the sound bar volume goes up and down,.

Look forward to better sound. I, m sure it will do its job well but it is rather complicated to set up and make to work. My technicaly minded daughter arrives next monday and will help me with this.

The sound is basic with little bass but you get what you pay for and this is very cheap and does the job, the blutooth feature is nice and simply to use.

If you want a soundbar at a great price then buy the cello soundbar. That good my mum and dad bought one.

I bought this to augment the sound of the tv in the kitchen. Space for it is limited,so size was one of the main considerations. I find the sound quality is ok, but there is barely sufficient volume when connected to the tv via a wire. With a bluetooth connection to an i-pad volume is fine.

Good and easy to install but with wrong power plug. The product was delivered on time and it was very easy to set up and in no time i was using it. The problem is that it only comes with power plug to the uk and as such i had to use an adapter which obviously is not the nicest solution appart from the extra cost involved. F you are selling to continental europe why not sending a power plug compatible.

I purchased this item mainly for the bluetooth facility. The bluetooth setting up (pairing) with a mobile or tablet is extremely straight forward. At this price, i wasn’t really expecting it to be very good. The seal on the box indicates that these were originally intended for sale by marks & spencer’s. The device itself comes with a feature that allows it to be extended by unscrewing the middle section and replacing it with a wider wider middle section (supplied). This obviously moves the speakers further apart (by about 10 inches), so creates a ‘wider’ sound. Besides the bluetooth, it has one 3. 5mm headphone style socket as input and comes with 2 cables. One of these goes to another 3.

Look forward to better sound. I, m sure it will do its job well but it is rather complicated to set up and make to work. My technicaly minded daughter arrives next monday and will help me with this.

Orbitsound M12 Wireless Wooden Cabinet Soundbar : Not impressed – read before you buy – you need to listen to the quality before purchase

Although the sound quality of this is very, very good and the wireless sub woofer is a nice touch and the bluetooth works well, i wouldn’t describe it as ‘room filling’. Ok i have a large room but at max volume, i still feel as if i am missing a true cinema experience. The spatial aspect also doesn’t really give much. My real gripe was that after hardly any use, i had to pay £20 for a new remote as the small shiny one supplied had packed up and it was out of guarantee. It was pretty useless anyway as other reviewers have pointed out. Make sure you get the slightly curved, matt black remote when you buy one. It did however save me a lot of grief from my wife about the 6 speakers and massive amplifier i had on the original sound system.

Good quality sound, good price. . I looked at a number of soundbars to improve the quality of sound i get from my tv. Previously i used my hifi to get good sound from blu-ray / dvd but couldn’t use it for tv sound. The orbitsound m12 is amazing value for the quality of sound available. Its simplicity itself to set up – just use the supplied optical link and everything works fine. I had a small problem in that my tv only has two hdmi connections and i was using them for apple tv and freesat which left no connection for my blu-ray player other than component video. This meant that the optical lead couldn’t supply sound from the blu-ray to the m12. It was easily solved by connecting a good quality l/r audio cable from the blu-ray to l/r audio input on the m12. I actually think the sound quality is improved by using this method of connection and i’d recommend doing this for a blu-ray or dvd connection instead of the optical link even if you have enough hdmi connections. It also gives good quality stereo sound listening to cd on the blu-ray.

Redecorated our lounge & didn’t want the all round system we had with all the wires. Decided on the wireless orb soundbar. It gives out a great sound from the television & also music from my phone. The sound from the soundbar more than compensates for the surround system we had. Excellent bit of kit & reasonably priced, which is a bonus.

A great british product at a great price. . This is the best soundbar i have listened to and as far as setup was concerned it was easy to carry out and worked first time. It is also easy to bluetooth connect to phone and computer.

Not traditional ‘surround sound’ per se, but a decent simple soundbar if gotten at the right price. What’s good:nice well-rounded audiono ‘sweet-spot’ for audio enjoymentfuss-free setupwhat’s not so good:not ‘surround sound’ in the true sense of the wordexpensive unless you get it for a knock-down pricea bit ‘tall’ in sizebasic remoteoverall look isn’t very ‘premium’can’t turn off the bright blue led on the frontno visual settings indicatorsnot everyone looking for a soundbar will be wanting it to fit the same purpose. This soundbar i acquired at a knock-down price in from my local department store, and it serves my needs relatively well. I have a re-purposed 3rd bedroom that i have put a sofa and a tv in and use it to watch tv, movies and a bit of playstation on when i want an environment more cosy than our large lounge area. We didn’t want the clutter the room with wires or speakers, so a simple 2-box setup such as a soundbar with dedicated subwoofer is ideal. We also didn’t want to spend a lot of money so getting this for under £150 was a decent proposition. This soundbar is something of a compromise. It is not surround sound, in fact it’s not even ‘stereo’ in the traditional sense of the word in that you don’t get specific ‘left’ and ‘right’ aspects to the audio. Instead, the front part of the bar projects a mono signal, and then two side-firing speakers send out a ‘spatial stereo’ sound to complete the signal. The benefits of this is that you get a nicely rounded effect no-matter where you are sitting.

We have a ‘snug’ lounge but the sound is perfect, not too overpowering. We have a ‘snug’ lounge but the sound is perfect, not too overpowering, however, the settings are very manageable enabling you to get the sound balanced perfectly for your room size.

After trolling e-bay and currys for a soundbar that would fit under my tv but not dominate i chose the m12, its great full cimema sound tested it with an enigma cd lovely then harry potter fantastic. I ordered it on wednesday it arrived friday (standard post) thanks to the support team @ orbit for their promt responce to my query. Easy to set up just plug in connect up and away you go. A great product very impressed worth every penny.

Excellent product if you can get money off @ ideal home show. Bought this at the ideal home show 2014 where they were giving £50 off the £399. Having had a demo at the previous years show i couldn’t resist purchasing it esp as i had moved into a new place with a bigger living room. Overall i’d say the sound is extremely good with deep, room filling bass and clear high end. Cannot complain about the sound when connected via bluetooth to any device (use it quite a bit with my smartphone streaming music). And when connected to the tv the sound is also very good. However, my only comment is when i’m watching films. Yes the sound is a lot richer and broader with the bass but the sound levels can sometimes be a bit off with the bass being too loud and vocals not being totally clear. I don’t think this is the fault if the sound bar but might be an idea to put the sound source from the tv through an equaliser.
