Denon DA-10 Portable Headphone Amplifier With D/A Converter – – Good portable headphone amplifier

A head phone amp that allows you to take a audio source directly from the lightening port of your apple device as well as an aux input. Feels very light but performs well. Bit pricie so looses 1 star.

I have had two fiio headphone amps and was pleased with how they worked. I have a pair of audio technica hd headphones and the first time i used the da-10, they were awakened and came alive. The sound is well balanced and tight. I’m hearing detail now i’ve never heard before with the da-10. The soundstage is natural and refined. The da-10 is well worth the investment.

A great companion for those who. Brings out the maximum of my sennheiser hd 598. Well balanced, clear and full of details. A great companion for those who, like me, don’t have much chance to listen music through some really good amp+speakers but longing for high-end sound quality at home. It is perfect for how i use it: listening music at home from my pc (via usb) from high quality mp3 or streaming. The da-10 does an unbeatable job in this setup and have all the features what is needed (even switching off charging to reduce noise). Also has a very solid build quality with impressive battery life. For all these reasons it is real 5+ star for me. (i am sure that does the same good job with iphone and ipad but has not tried yet. Good portable headphone amplifier. It is easy to connect and the sound is really great. The size is a bit too big when you want to bring it with you.

  • Really good DAC not as well known or spoken as it deserves
  • Good portable headphone amplifier

What a difference this makes to the music playback on my iphone. The soundstage and detail is so much better than it was before. It pays to shop around for the best deals on this product but at less than £160 this represents good value currently. More of a desk amp as it’s not as portable as the dragonfly or similar although it does come with a carrying pouch which will accommodate an iphone 6/6s (and probably a 7) but not the plus sized version. No need to buy additional cables either as everything you need is in the box. A nice, rugged-looking piece of kit. The only downside is that it reveals which of your headphones are compromised in their delivery – too much woolly bass for example. I’m enjoying this through atomic floyd airjax in my study and the sound is great.

Really good dac not as well known or spoken as it deserves. Really great dac and portable headphone amplifier, not very well known to the crowd as it does not get much attention on head-fi and other forums. It is frankly beyond me why fiio products, for me cheap but somewhat mediocre to average products at best, get so much attention instead. If you can get (and you can) this denon for a comparable price, do not even consider a fiio and thank me later. I own this, the creative e5 and finally the mojo which was supposed to be the end of the upgrading game. To be honest i cannot find much of a difference between that and the d-10 while the creative is a bit on a lower level sound-wide but still worth owing for its bluetooth capability and the microphone input. The d-10 misses the 5th star for me because:1. Form factor too bulky when compared to mojo2. Lacks bass booster button which i liked in the oppo ha23. Only one headphone jack while the other 2 dac i own have 2.
