Fisual Pro Install Low Profile Adhesive Backed Flat Speaker Cable – A little tricky to install

Hard to believe but it was a little tricky. The backing paper on the adhesive strip tended to come off before i had cut and positioned it so i needed to do it very soon after it was delivered. The stripping back to the core was also a little tricky due to the flat profile. However i overcame and stuck this on the top of my flat skirting board and its barely visible. If you have to run a cable and can not bury in the wall or under a carpet and don’t want the little clips along you skirting then this is the cable for you.

Product is easy to install and is un-detectable beneath underlay/carpet. Not tested yet, am still decorating so equipment not in place.

Like i said in the title above, i can hardly notice it at all. It was easy to stick to the skirting board and is white so hey – almost invisible. I wanted a speaker wire that wouldn’t cost the earth but would deliver satisfactory sound. I haven’t noticed any decrease in the quality of my sound since swapping from my older, more expensive wire, which was all i was worried about. It was a bit fiddly to strip the ends, being flat and not round like other cable but sticking it to the skirting board was easy enough and my wife hasn’t moaned about it so it must look very neat and tidy. It’s just about thin enough to fit in between the carpet and skirting board in my house so i see perhaps half of the cable. I have laid it so that the cable with the writing on is against the floor making it as invisible as possible. Here are the specifications for the Fisual Pro Install Low Profile Adhesive Backed Flat Speaker Cable:

This wire is excellent, fit easily between skirting board and carpet grippers. Easy to manipulate to go around corners/fold over itself for angles etc and the sticky back secures angles etc in place. Carpet fitters commented how good it was compared to thick speaker wire they usually come across. A section goes across the main floor area under the underlay and due to the low profile it cannot be felt at all. Would buy again if i was doing another room. Buy plenty though as the folds/manipulating u have to do to make the flat wire turn a corner will reduce the length slightly – only had this problem as i was following the contours of the skirting and feeding up walls.

Think twice and then once more, you can only cut once. Ok for straight – permanent runs, especially under flooring or behind boards. Self adhesive covering does come away as you handle lengths so you need to peg temporarily. If you may want to move speakers make sure you have suitable connectors or you will be pulling the speaker cable off and it won’t stick back down. Not one of my better plans, of course to stick it has to be flat . And once stuck you can’t decide to move it. So you need to get it right first time. Ordinary cable plus ikea self adhesive channels turns out much easier / cheaper / better suited to going around obstacles.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Think twice and then once more, you can only cut once
  • Can hardly notice it
  • great for those with houseproud partners

Great for those with houseproud partners. The improved sound from them will be lost from the ear-bashing you will take if 4 cm diameter tubers around the listening room do not blend in. If you have the luxury of a listening room dedicated to music and only music, buy better, but ig you need to hide cables, thes go under carpet with hardly a bump, or around skirting boards and can be painted to be almost unnoticeable. (i recommend making tists from horizontal to vertical and vice-versa in hidden places as the need a decently smooth turn rather than a 90 degree twist likely to break the connection).
