Jam Audio Rhythm Wireless Wi-Fi Multi-Room Speaker – https: //www. amazon. co.

Good speaker for all the rooms. We were really impressed with the sound quality, i bought the pair of speakers from currys for my brother at christmas but they were sold individually and i paid about £50 more. They work well with your families spotify account and tunes from our phones. Love the fact you can control all the room volumes too.

Multiple set up is best to get real value for money – just the one is a novelty for me. . Having previously had a simple bluetooth speaker to play my phone and laptop music through, i welcomed the chance to try a wifi speaker that offered similar facilities, and more apparently. Once the app was installed, after searching simply for ‘jam speaker’ its just a case of following simple install instructions to be up & running in less than 2 minutes. The app itself is underwhelming in its usability – while it does what it needs to do it just doesn’t seem right to me. Speaker styling is simple & understated with a revolving ‘jam’ badge depending on if you stand it portrait or landscape – note if you stand it up in portrait you will only get mono sound. As mentioned in other reviews, you must use the app to play music to your speaker – annoyingly so. Your own music on your phone or stream stations from the supplied radio station browsers – or spotify but you must have a paid version of the app to stream to your speaker/syes, if you have more than one speaker you can play the same or different tunes to different speakers or groups of speakers – but i don’t have the extra speakers to try this function. Audio level / bass / treble are adjustable for your own ears – as for the quality i am sure if you are an audiophile you can pick holes in it, but for me, and no doubt many others it is better than you might expect from a small black box. One let down for me over a traditional bluetooth speaker is i cant ( if i can, i cant see how) play music from my laptop where my itunes has most of my music – a step backwards for me. All in all, a good speaker with good functionality in the right household – but i get the feeling it is of far more use when used in a multiple speaker set up – just one speaker & you aren’t likely to stray too far from it. Here are the specifications for the Jam Audio Rhythm Wireless Wi-Fi Multi-Room Speaker:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • 2.1 stereo sound, plays in portrait or landscape
  • Listen to different music in each room or listen to the same music in every room
  • Control your music with free JAM app, Stream Spotify, Deezer, TuneIn and more
  • Sync multiple speakers, Presets: your music at the touch of a button
  • Intercom app: talk through your speakers plus Treble + bass adjustment

Now have a total of 4 of these and one of the larger version around the house. You do need the app to get the best functionality but they work well and of good quality.

Experienced initial problems but mainly resolved now. I have unfortunately experienced some major issues with using this speaker, though anyone lucky enough not to encounter the problems i did may find it decent enough. However, i have personally found this speaker very disappointing. First impression out of the box is that it’s a nice size, compact but not too small to impair the sound. To get started you need to plug it in and then download the ‘free app’ from jam. However, it’s not so much free as it is compulsory – there is no way to use this speaker without the app, so if the developer stops supporting it in the future you may well be left with quite an expensive doorstop. Unlike some other speakers in this category, there is no bluetooth support. The first problem i encountered was searching for the app on the store – i tried searching for ‘jam speaker’, ‘jam audio’ and ‘jam music’ but none of these brought up the correct app – using better meta data with appropriate keywords on their app page could resolve this, so i hope they take note. In the end i had to search for ‘jam wifi’ in order to find the app, but after that it was a quick install (just under 50mb in size). Once i had the app installed, i plugged in the speaker and gave it sufficient time to boot up.

  • Great Speakers, Wish iPhone could catch up.
  • Grouping the speakers could be better i. e

Big,powerful wireless home speakerjust get to grips with the app, and you’ll be fine. This works really well for me. Nowadays, since my vinyl is no more, all of my music comes from my phone, my laptop or my computer. This good looking big speaker sits nicely in my front room. And i can play music from any of my devices using wifi. It is not portable needing a power socket and being far too big to cart around. But it makes a great start to a full housewide system. When i can afford it, ill get one in each room. Plays my own playlists perfectly, and spotify.

I was concerned that setup would be difficult given previous reviews but these were unfounded. The setup was easy and complete minutes after it was out of the box. For the price, the sound quality is excellent, albeit better with pop/rock than classical music. The app, despite having poor ratings, is also fine and easy to use. The speaker connected to spotify from tablet/phone/laptop without prompts once on the wifi network.

Great quality if you can get it to work. This is a difficult thing for me to review as shall become clear. First of all, the sound quality is amazing. Music is very clear and bass lines are well defined. The problem is actually getting any sound to come out in the first place. To start with, it was supplied with no instructions. However, being a bit techie savvy, i managed to get it to connect to my router. I could still not get any sound out of it. The side of the box states that there is a jam app. However a search on both app store an google play for jam got no results.

Whilst its not of sufficient sound quality that i’d want to use it as my primary sound system, it would make a great portable speaker to use about the house. The volume is fairly decent, the music quality is adequate, and its a smart looking unit. The speaker itself is operated through an app, which is downloadable from itunes, and whilst this might present issues to some, i found it no harder to set up than my sonos system, which also runs through my wifi. The app isn’t quite as refined as the sonos app, but is relatively intuitive. Overall, its fantastic for the money.

The speaker is sturdy and packaged well. The instructions that come with it are brief however it is quite intuitive to set up and to start using via the app. I have been using it via ios. The ability to steam from any room is handy as is the quick use of volume controls and changing tracks etc. There is a short lag of around a second between any command on the app and the speaker responding. It also has the ability for you to send voice messages through the speaker which can be quite fun. I found it easy to use with streaming apps as well as to play music stored on my device. There was an issue with some tracks that, whilst stored on my phone, were shown as ‘in the cloud’. Only happened on a few tracks so one star affected here.

The rhythm is quite small and unobtrusive but in a medium size room it packs a punch. After a few days of use i found that whilst adequate at lower volumes it comes into its own above 50%. It might not produce the same quality of sound as sonos but it is still a great sound.

Lovely sound quality, but some issues. Let me start by saying that this speaker is bigger than it looks and bigger than i anticipated. Straight out of the box it is easy to set up and operate. You need to quickly download the jam audio app and from there it’s incredibly easy to negotiate and operate the speaker from your phone, you just need to connect it to your router by locating it and entering your password. Via your phone you can then play music through spotify and there is an extensive and exhaustive list of radio stations which you can play. The sound quality is extremely impressive, in particular the bass, but i do have a number of issues with this speaker. Firstly, you can’t play any songs that you have stored on your phone through it. Secondly, as far as i can see, you can’t play songs via amazon music or itunes through the wireless connection – and as these are the two sites that i use for music streaming this makes this speaker of little use to me. Finally, there is no bluetooth connectivity.

I am a spotify premium user and i love this speaker. You have to hear it to believe it, features are really good too. I can save my favourite playlists to the presets so i don’t need to get my phone out to start my music. I thought they might be a little too cheap and tinny but was blown away by the sound quality and how easy they were to set up. Really happy with this purchase. My girlfriend is not a premium spotify user but with airplay on her iphone she can still stream her music directly to the speakers.

A nice little speaker, supposed to have a subwoofer built in, must be pretty small then coz the bass is negligible.

Great speakers, wish iphone could catch up. . I own 2 of these symphony speakers and 2 jam rhythm speakers, these speakers have a great tone and the app has been updated to make it much better than most people seem to rate it. The app will now sync speakers and you can set them in sync as a left and right speaker if you wish,or all as individual speakers. I have them all around the house and love the ease with which i can change from one to the other, the only problem i have is using it with the itunes app which can’t seem to use my external hdd to share over my iphone app on my phone to control the music around the house. As i use my iphone to control these speakers via the jam wifi app, the itunes and iphone apps won’t seem to allow you to access your music over your network via your phone app.

      1. I purchased 2 of these speakers recently and wasn’t sure what to expect. . Luckily i am pleasantly surprised. For the money they are are extremely good. The sound is fantastic and great build quality, the only downside is the app is a bit of a disappointment. The app is way off sonos standard and can be a bit clunky, however when using spotify it’s faultless. Really pleased and would highly recommend. Hopefully jam can make some improvements with the app and it will be 5 stars.

    1. Promising product but doesn’t work with your desktop or laptop. Design of the product is simple, nice and modern. Sound quality for this price point is brilliant. My main down point for this is the fact that it can not support streaming audio from a laptop or desktop device. I was hoping to stream soundcloud or even spotify from my laptop, however this is not possible. You are only able to control music from your phone library or your spotify premium account (on your phone). For this reason i unfortunately will have to send it back as i play most of my music from my laptop library.

I bought both this and the jam rhythm speaker as a bundle from a reputable high street retailer. They come in attractive packaging, and setup of the speakers was straightforward and completed in a few minutes with the enclosed instructions. The symphony speaker is just the right size to tuck into a cubby hole in my tv unit, so it is not obtrusive in any way. Their sound quality is fantastic. I was wondering how close the sound quality would be to more expensive speakers in terms of sound quality, considering it’s around half the price of the sonos equivalent, but it definitely matches it. You can tweak the sound further by downloading the jam wi-fi app and adjusting the eq settings to your liking. The jam rhythm speaker is placed in an upstairs room, and pairing them for synced music playing is just a matter of dragging one to the other to form your own speaker group. The rhythm is the ideal wi-fi speaker for smaller rooms, as although it cannot be turned up as loud as the symphony, it doesn’t need to be as loud to fill a smaller room with great quality soundi use primarily spotify for streaming, and the spotify app can also be used to pair to a speaker, or group of speakers. I haven’t extensively tried dlna streaming, although this is possible via an apple device using the airdrop feature.

Great product at a good price :). Being a first time user of wifi products i was nervous, i love music but spending this much money was a real considered purchase. After downloading the app and setting up the speakers which was very easy, i had one in my kitchen and one in the lounge i couldn’t believe what i was hearing. The sound was so clear and could be heard from all rooms of my flat without annoying the neighbours. I had friends over at the weekend and wanted some music playing in the back ground that wasn’t going to be too over-powering, so put them both on and then when we went through into the kitchen for dinner it was seamless. They were also very impressed and wanted me to show them the app and all the different platforms you can use it on… which of course i didoverall they are both great and after a lot of deliberation i’m so glad i made the jump. Great product at an affordable price.

Grouping the speakers could be better i. I have 3 of these speakers and whilst it’s not sonos it’s a lot cheaper and serves its purpose well, the sound output is decent and the sync works well. Limited applications bring it down but it works with dlna so some android devices can cast straight to it and airplay works with it which broadens the limited apps. As i only really need it for spotify it doesn’t really matter the app limitation i can live with. Grouping the speakers could be better i. Allowing multiple groups but again considering the price point i can live with it.

      1. Quality and impressive is the only way i can sum these up. Quality -the jam symphony and jam rhythm extolled quality from the packaging, the feel of wireless speaker through to setup which needed minimal time and effort. The app loaded easily and spotify worked immediately. Impressive – the effortless multi-room streaming, great sound quality with deep base and large room filling sound is so impressive at any price. The fact that this streams effortlessly from all of our devices to the jam symphony or the smaller jam rhythm with such ease and intuitive controls is truly impressive. We are so amazed at how good these are that we plan to add more speakers in rooms we hadn’t considered before.

Good value and quality product. Been looking for a multi room speaker system for a while all too expensive this was perfect price and a brilliant speaker i bought 2 lounge and upstairs to try it so pleased with it now going for a third to complete the system. The tone and clarity is really good and product well made it takes minutes to establish.

      1. Great speaker at an affordable price – really impressed. I ordered this speaker after we’d had our kitchen modernised and there was no room for my soundbar and sub-woofer, this is a superb piece of kit, set up is easy through the jam wifi app and after no time at all i was streaming my music through the speaker. The quality of sound is very good and it certainly goes loud enough to fill the room (and the whole downstairs to be honest). The app is a little clunky, it recognised my music stored in itunes but not my amazon downloads, i fixed this by playing through air drop. I dropped 1 star from review because of this shortfall that i’m sure jam could fix. I’m really happy with my purchase, the price was excellent and, although i was really tempted to go for the sonos i’m glad that didn’t as it saved me £100. Take a punt on these speakers, you will not be disappointed. This review refers to the jam audio 2.

    1. Works straight out the box, looks the part, sounds fantastic. The app seems intuitive and easy to use (and certainly is during set up) but to be honest – you won’t really use it (assuming you’re on an apple device of some sort) because of the airplay compatibility. Any app you open (a streaming video, spotfiy, netflix, apple music, whatever) will play through the speaker when you open up your control centre and select it as the audio output – fantastic. So far there’s been two areas in which the symphony has fallen down and neither of them are jam audio’s fault, necessarily:- windows compatibilityon my mac, the speaker just works instantly. It’s actually ideal as my mac has a bit of a dodgy speaker, so this can just be used instead of the internal speakers with a single click of a button, effortless. On my partner’s windows laptop, this isn’t an option. The speakers on this (despite not being faulty) are actually worse than the mac, but i simply can’t get it to “see” the wireless system offered by jam. – lg tv compatibilitythe lg tv doesn’t have your typical 3. 5mm audio out, but instead offers a optical audio out only (courage?). The jam (understandably) only offers 3. 5mm audio in alongside it’s wifi input, and despite trying a number of different cables/convertors i can’t seem to get my tv to use this as a “soundbar” style device. Again, a shame – but no fault of the symphony’s.
