Lenco L-175 Direct Drive Glass Turntable – Excellent final component to finish off my new separate’s system

Excellent final component to finish off my new separate’s system. Excellent final component to finish off my new separate’s system the clarity of sound is amazing and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a new deck and the fact it doesn’t have a dust cover doesn’t bother me at all i think it looks better without one.

Quality product,delighted with performance.

I would like a glass cover to go with it. Here are the specifications for the Lenco L-175 Direct Drive Glass Turntable:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • Direct drive with vibrant glass design and removable aluminium head shell

Very good turntable very happy.

Has got me playing my lp’s again. I have a relatively large lp collection and have been playing then using a thorens td 150/ sme 3009/ shure v15 supertrack/ quad 66/ 606/ spendor bc1 combination for decades. Like many however i have been seduced by the ‘clean’ cd sound. So not playing my lp’s often. So i recently decided to either sell off the lp’s and turntable etc or get a new turntable etc. I was attracted initially to the lenco because ‘goldring-lenco’ is a name i remember from decades ago as a good quality turntable. The ‘badge’ is under new management and the l-175 hasn’t much in common with its predecessor. Reviews elsewhere that i have read have not been encouraging. I wouldn’t describe this as a ‘hi-fi’ product in that e. The tone arm set up is rudimentary (compared to my old sme) the cartridge stylus is spherical rather than elliptical as with the shure, the cartridge headshell is aluminium (or something similar) so relatively ‘massive’ compared to the sme headshells and there is an auto stop/ start option that wouldn’t have been found on ‘high end’ turntables. Because i’m still using the quad amp that has a ‘disc’ input i don’t use the pre-amp fitted in the turntable for use with amplifiers that only have a line-in input, neither have i tried transferring any discs to digital files as this unit apparently enables one to do. . However, i do like this unit (hence the score). As noted elsewhere, the sound is subjectively a bit brash or ‘bright’ but a little eq can be applied if desired. It was easy to set up, came well packaged, the instructions are somewhat perfunctory, there is no lid or cover provided for the turntable (but i have a perspex cover that fits mine) and the almost instant start/ stop direct drive works well.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Excellent final component to finish off my new separate’s system
  • Has got me playing my LP’s again
  • Sounds as good as it looks

Great turntable, but no lid, thought that was odd.

Very stylish and sounds great connected to my technics amp. Lack of cover is not the issue i thought it would be, very easy to keep clean.

Absolutely stunning looking unit that is also a nice size to fit on top of my existing hifi. Absolutely stunning looking unit that is also a nice size to fit on top of my existing hifi systemsound is great. The unit does not come with a plastic lid, which for me was fine since the lids need space to open up, something i don’t have the luxury of.

Smart looking, clean sounding bargain. I bought this to listen to my old vinyl collection. I’ve had quite a few turntables in the past including a linn sondek, thorens td 160, revolver, ar legend, etc and although not in the same league as these classics this little deck sounds quite good if set up properly. Using a felt mat, record clamp and an external phono stage makes a big difference. It looks really classy and is easy to use. Has the extra features like usb etc that i don’t use but they might come in handy in the future. Selling at a nice price on here, well worth 250 quid.
