LG Electronics LG LOUDR LHB645N Home Theatre Speaker System – : Best sound system

It was better than i thought it was going to be.

1 surround at its best and you can use the optical setting to connect your tv, so you have 5.

Bought this as i needed to upgrade from an old dvd all-in-one system. I weighed up going for a full home cinema receiver, but they’re generally huge and i’m restricted by space. This sounded like a good option, and so far, it’s near perfect for my needs. I used most of my existing speaker cables (apart from the lg subwoofer, which is wired and has a bespoke connector). I connected my sky+ hd box via an optical cable, and bought a new hdmi 2. 0 (high speed with ethernet) cable to connect to the tv from the unit to enable the arc function. Everything works as i expected – and more. I have a samsung tv, so i wasn’t sure if the simplink function would work – it does. The lg unit powers on and selects the arc input automatically when i turn the tv on, and even better – the volume of the unit is then automatically controlled from the tv remote control.

Very good goes with my 60in lg tv sound and picture very good.

I really should have checked the dsp sound support. While this surround sound system supports decoding of multiple dolby etc audio formats there is a reason it makes no claims in regards to it’s dsp sound reproduction. It’s sound reproduction lacks class. It’s good for generating bass at any volume – but lacks fine separation and structure in the sound at all frequencies. It’s like a brass band vs an orchestra, next to my ancient panasonic system.

So got this yesterday to replacing an aging samsung home theatre kit which didn’t support my ps4 or amazon optical input properly – the sound kept going and coming. Glad to say this system from lg works a treat. I had everything swapped around pretty quickly thanks to the lg using wire for connections and not proprietary plugs. The sound is great and i am using it with some good quality speaker cable for the surrounds as it was already put in under the floor boards. I didn’t necessarily want tall speakers but they fit fairly out of the way. Happy with the system so far. I’ve yet to try the blu-ray player or phone app yet but was glad to see it automatically picked up my nas device without me doing anything. Can also use amazon, iplayer, and netflix if my firetv box and ps4 ever fails. Will update my review when i’ve played with it more. Update: i’ve now had this playing 5.

I got this to match my gf tv and she loves it it also goes very loud when she has bluetooth music from her phone on it she put the small speakers next to a chair and the other next to the sofa 100% better than the old one.

Very good indeed for the money.

Stylish unit with compact rear speakers. Sound is clear and rich and there are plenty of customisation options available.

2+2 tall boy and satellite speakers –

Not a particularly technical person but was able to get everything plugged in and working , sounds so much better than the speakers built into the tv, and the menu / remote is easy to use/navigate.

Excellent service and brilliant sound.

3D Blu-Ray disc playback – Advanced 3D technology, LG 3D Blu-ray disc playback provides an immersive 3D viewing experience.

LG smart – Smart entertainment, access a growing world of entertainment bringing together some of the best services to your home. Wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth.

Might get a replacement for xmas if i’m lucky. Lesson is if you buy cheap crap you get crap performance and service.

      1. First off, the sound isn’t great. The rear speakers can nearly be heard even with a lot it tweaking, but ok for the price. Secondly, one of the speakers failed to work on opening the box, so after deciding not to send the whole of the unit back i decided to open the speaker up to diagnose the issue (voiding any warranty at the same time) so after an hour of dismantling it was aparant the poor workmanship was the cause due to a speaker wire being trapped in the housing when constructed, a simple fix with a bit of tape. On opening up it is apperant that the speaker is very small hence the poor sound, and to add insult to injury the speaker stand visually shows two speaker bays in each stand but it’s a con, there is only one measly little speaker in thereyou will be disappointed with the sound, even more so if the individual speakers don’t work haspend some more money and get a bit of quality.
