LG Electronics LG OLED55B7V 55 inch Premium 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart OLED TV, Great TV – But not cheap

This replaced a top of the assortment, if slightly aged, 50′ plasma. This was the best reviewed tv established in its class in accordance to the homework i would accomplished ahead of shopping for. Funnily sufficient i was not massively impressed when i observed a demo product in the john lewis retail store (the demo photographs seemed good but then they switched it to a broadcast resource there were being a variety of odd outcomes i could see when shut to the screen) but as soon as i would bought one particular, set up the newest firmware, set it up and adjusted the photograph settings it it has been faultless. I might genuinely advocate changing the colour options in line with the suggestions on the avforum internet site. Mine is set to the image mode ‘isf vivid room’ and modified in line with their recommendations. I essentially you should not have any 4k sources, all my tv is viewed both over satellite, on bluray or on amazon/netflix. Photographs are excellent, motion is dealt with effectively and the all round photo top quality is amazing. It even does a fairly excellent occupation with sd pictures. The tv alone appears to be incredibly smart. All usual the catch up/on need apps work high-quality and its simple to put in new types.

All the things i examine about this tv getting a amazing photo is real. The up-scaling of a 1080p broadcast should be viewed to be believed. Hated the magic controller at initially, but now i’ve obtained applied to it it truly is not far too poor. Interestingly the controller from our outdated lg 47′ led tv also functions with this tv, which will make the placing up a great deal less complicated.

“Excellent TV apart from a few niggles, Simply the best!, Amazing T.V. Incredible picture”

I acquired this as the system for observing blu-ray and 4kuhd dvd’s (which require the hdr capacity) and for this it is amazing. For tv viewing it needs an hd channel/enter as ‘normal’ channels glimpse a very little grainy more mature programs manufactured in the united states of america look a very little fuzzy but this should be envisioned when remembering what the american tv/video infrastructure was like in the 80s/90s.

Had this tv for a number of months now, so significantly seriously delighted with the high quality of this tv, 1080p material normally appears to be like just as good as 4k, brightness is excellent and the tv isn’t going to experience much too big when seeing it just from a couple of meters away. Apps on the tv are also very good, i also have a fireplace tv but now only use it to look at crunchyroll, all other applications i require are currently on this tv.

I have constantly required an oled tv, on the other hand the price was a minimal steep for me, so i shopped all over extensively in advance of settling for second ideal. I opted for a 55′ samsung qled tv, it had a attractive photo and was excellent for gaming. However the black ranges and viewing angles were weak, two issues that definitely make a difference to me. I was content ample with the tv but it designed lifeless pixels immediately after just 3 weeks, so i returned it for a sony xe9005. This was a further medium to superior end tv, nonetheless the android os is dreadful, the game method did not operate correctly, producing skipped frames and stuttering (established to sport mode with all graphic processing characteristics turned off) and the backlight was also faulty, it pulsed like a heart defeat. These were the only other options for me in my funds and i had been extremely unfortunate, but i failed to want to risk acquiring the similar set once again in circumstance they had the similar faults. I returned the sony and thought screw it, i will commit that little bit added and go for the oled like i originally wished to. I assume it was just ‘meant to be’. I should really have just absent for it in the initially position as it truly does blow the other two tvs out of the water.

Photograph good quality is unbelievable, you can see every single depth. Uncomplicated to set up, and set up. I are not able to give this any more praise.

We purchased ours in jan 2018 and just fell in adore with it. This sort of a large luxury tv for us and most def way pasts our first five hundred quid finances. The other half noticed it and gave me that appear, i indicate how could you disagree with ‘the look’. In any case, following getting utterly perplexed by the million options, which can only be a good point, i settled on a refined tweak on 1 of the preset monitor forms. It appears to be like and appears remarkable. . We experienced a mysterious display burn in ours past month, (june 2018), so in essence 6 months in and we have a display screen issue. Despite a ton of prevalent feeling and treatment, not letting hard and stark colour photos or contrasts to remain on the display ,we dont pause the tv or let a video game dwell, we experienced this monitor burn. It was a pretty light-weight opaque 10x ten inch square. Some colors would show this up actually evidently, like a footie pitch environmentally friendly or burning orange colours.

Are not able to fault the photo – finest i have at any time seen. Having said that, once in a while, with amazon prime, i only get the encompass seem (what should really appear out of rear speakers) from the tv. If i transform to one more online video stream, it commonly corrects by itself. Also, the ‘all 4’ and itv hub are not possible to log in to mainly because the magic pointer does not surface with these applications. I’m certain this will be corrected with a future firmware/program update. Apart from these small niggles, it is a fantastic tv. I would have provided it five stars had i not experienced these complications. Update: i have considering the fact that uncovered that navigating the all4 and itv hub app need the use of the ‘cursor ring’ buttons and not the magic pointer, so , all is superior with people applications now.

Breathtaking picture but slightly flaky software package (eg lost all the hd channels so had to rescan). Terrific interface and appreciate the issue and click on remote.

Lovely image and audio. Key difficulty with it is that they make it unachievable to connect to wirelessly stream from other units – they want you to purchase an lg telephone as properly. For which they can very seriously go and fudge them selves. I paid out four grand for this past yr and my 800 quid telly connects to everything.

I recieved this as a wedding ceremony present, and it is simply just spectacular. I dont have everything that is 4k so i upgraded my netflix to be 4k and even streaming, it is totally crazy to appear at. The distant is wonderful, the application is wonderful. But its all about the picture excellent which is simply amazing.

Upgraded my present lg 3d tv to this product. Pretty quick to put in and set up. Like the built in wifi and amazon button on the distant. With 4k media or uhd 4k streaming the photo normally takes your breath absent. Blue plant 2 helps make you truly feel seriously immersed in the practical experience. Maximum good quality construction with an alloy cast and machined stand somewhat than plastic. The six nations rugby looks wonderful. Just cannot propose this tv really more than enough.

I experienced a forty two inch plasma prior to and that was great. But this is in a league of its possess. The monitor is so black, it can make the plasma appear lame. And the plasam appeared great agisnt the lcd competitiveness. Colors pop out there is no gradation in colour that id did get with the plasma. Apocalypse now seems awsome. I dont see lcd ever ever at any time remaining better. (from readong evaluations not.

Dear but a fantastic top quality monitor. The colours are wonderful and location up the tv is incredibly simple. Normally takes some having employed to with some of the essential settings concealed absent in various menus but as soon as its set up its a stunning hunting piece of kit. I have some fears about burn in but will have to see how that goes, predominantly working with it for viewing films and exhibits somewhat than gaming so it shouldn’t be substantially of a risk aspect anyway.

This is the initial lg tv i have owned and i’m quite impressed so far. I chose the lg oled model as all oled screens are produced by lg so it produced sense to me to go to them. . Oh and they are less costly than any one else. There are a lot of critiques about the screen top quality which is fantastic so i will not go into that but i will mention other extra destructive factors i have witnessed in other assessments and address them right. Yes the seem is not fantastic, but it’s not much too bad for an ultra skinny tv, if you are expecting a total cinema soundscape then you are mad and/or deluded. It’s watchable and as most folks will hyperlink this to yet another audio technique it’s not a big deal. The biggest challenge i have experienced is lip syncing / audio lag, i have only noticed this from a sky q source and no other so i am assuming it’s an concern with sky q and not the tv. It is very easily remedied via sky q settings. Sky q also experienced to be coerced into sending the 10bit sign but it did finally, you will want to make guaranteed the tv is in 10 bit deep color manner for it to be recognised. I would also level out to any would be buyer that despite the fact that this is a 4k tv until you are able of obtaining a uhd signal then the picture will not be beautiful although it does render 1080p hd really very well.

I’ve experienced a panasonic plasma and have resisted an liquid crystal display tv as i uncover the plasma so significantly richer and extra life-like than any liquid crystal display tvs i have witnessed. This lg oled is seriously a stage higher than – delivering amazingly very clear and deep illustrations or photos, with a great deal improved brightness than my old plasma. The tv menus are more of a faff but are however substantially greater than most other manufacturers’ clunky and above-challenging tv menus currently (wanting at you in individual, sony). Are unable to advise this tv more than enough – outstanding image, all the necessary connections, and looks terrific in the living space with virtually borderless body.

1st off, this is a 2017 design. I compensated £1999 for a 65 inch in addition a wall bracket. The place i appear from that’s a lot for a telly. But the opportunity of the photograph leaves any other none oled exhibit in its wake. I say probable as feeding it a normal definition impression will fail to illustrate what this kit is able of. Basic 1080p seems to be okay but give it some 4k hdr demos from youtube or a single of the shows ( now minimal option ) from netflix and your jaw will drop. The colors pop the black is genuinely black. Compared to my outdated set ( a samsung sixty five “ curved ) the seem is definitely great but evidently it can not compete with a separate audio amp and speakers. It has focused netflix and primary buttons as well as you can allocate any of the numerical keys 1 – nine as a small slash to one more element. The moment assigned you phone up the perform by holding the crucial down for a handful of seconds.

To get the most out of it you want to be in a position to enjoy hd or 4k program’s. Everything in hd these as blue world or nat geo hd appear stunning. Also upgraded my netflix to get hd/4k and it was value the excess £3. Amazon primary in 4k this kind of as the grand tour seem great. Its not cheap but you will be glad you acquired it.

Arrived on time and in just one piece.

Excellent picture and sound.

I cant even begin to explain how considerably i love this tv. The only situation ive observed is with he audio as it is not that terrific, but if you have. Awesome audio set up you are likely to be me good.

Coming from an more mature non 4k tv (samsung 48′) i was expecting a wonderful tv viewing all the best rated awards and reviews it has but i was blown away by the picture quality. 4k game titles from the xbox x are amazing. Hdr is fantastic and the image is so sharp and immersive. Blacks and colors are vivid. Having said that, i would advocate changing the out of box colours as they are far too in excess of saturated specially the reds and yellows. I utilized internet sites like avforums and rltings to get a combination of greatest options. Its huge tv but it does not seem that a great deal greater than our previous tv due to the preposterous skinny bezel and body. ** just a tip if you get challenges environment up your gaming console or other equipment and it retains loosing inputs then improve the 4k cable. I experienced a 4k existing functioning cable but for some purpose the lg failed to like it and following a while it keep loosing inputs and saying it was not detected when employing the xbox x.

This is the greatest photo i have observed so significantly on a dwelling tv fantastic wonderful outstanding.

Had this tv for a few weeks now, so far really happy with the quality of this tv, 1080p content usually looks just as good as 4k, brightness is good and the tv doesn’t feel too big while watching it just from a few meters away. Apps on the tv are also good, i also have a fire tv but now only use it to watch crunchyroll, all other apps i need are already on this tv.

Coming from an older non 4k tv (samsung 48″) i was expecting a great tv seeing all the top rated awards and reviews it has but i was blown away by the picture quality. 4k games from the xbox x are amazing. 1. Is just like looking through a window. So clear and that’s just in 3k can’t wait to view in 4k. The detail is incredible, the sharpness of the colour is outstanding, no ghosting when watching high speed sports. Lightweight, looks smaller than our previously smaller screened t. Because there isn’t a large frame around the screen.

    1. This replaced a top of the range, if slightly aged, 50″ plasma. This was the top reviewed tv set in its class according to the homework i’d done before buying. Funnily enough i wasn’t massively impressed when i saw a demo model in the john lewis store (the demo images looked great but then they switched it to a broadcast source there were a number of odd effects i could see when close to the screen) but once i’d bought one, installed the latest firmware, set it up and adjusted the picture settings it it has been faultless. I’d really recommend changing the colour settings in line with the recommendations on the avforum website. Mine is set to the picture mode “isf bright room” and adjusted in line with their recommendations. I actually don’t have any 4k sources, all my tv is watched either over satellite, on bluray or on amazon/netflix. Images are great, motion is handled well and the overall picture quality is fantastic. It even does a pretty good job with sd images. The tv itself looks very smart. All usual the catch up/on demand apps work fine and its easy to install new ones.

We bought ours in jan 2018 and just fell in love with it. Such a big luxury tv for us and most def way pasts our initial 500 quid budget. The other half saw it and gave me that look, i mean how could you disagree with “the look”. Despite a ton of common sense and care, not letting hard and stark colour images or contrasts to stay on the screen ,we dont pause the tv or let a game dwell, we had this screen burn. It was a very light opaque 10x 10 inch square. Some colours would show this up really clearly, like a footie pitch green or burning orange colours.

I’ve only had mine for a short while, but i can already say without hesitation that this tv has produced the most incredible images i have ever seen on a screen of any size, whether in the cinema or at home. It isn’t simply a matter of resolution, which is probably the least important factor in making a difference, but the contrast, saturation and incredible colour gamut when viewing true hdr content. Sometimes one actually gets the feeling that one is only truly seeing the world clearly for the first time, that’s just how insanely good the image quality can be. As oled prices continue their gradual annual decline, i foresee a time in the near future when it will become difficult to justify buying anything else unless one is on a severely constrained budget.

      1. I’ve had a panasonic plasma and have resisted an lcd tv as i find the plasma so much richer and more life-like than any lcd tvs i’ve seen. This lg oled is really a step above – delivering amazingly clear and deep images, with much better brightness than my old plasma. The tv menus are more of a faff but are still much better than most other manufacturers’ clunky and over-complicated tv menus nowadays (looking at you in particular, sony). Can’t recommend this tv enough – brilliant picture, all the necessary connections, and looks great in the living room with almost borderless frame.

For which they can seriously go and fudge themselves. I paid four grand for this last year and my 800 quid telly connects to everything.

I bought this tv after bagging numerous issues with sony led sets. Was getting sick of the issues they have which ate inerrant in the tech. This is a breath of fresh air. After 20 of so rubbish tvs i’m finally there with this onesuperb value too. Lovely pop as i find pro reviewers a bit dull. Turn off the energy saving feature in the picture menu. And turn off programme list update so it doesn’t default to live tv. Turn on hdmi ultra deep he colour (general settings scroll down)use a progressive output (sky 2160p 10 bit) from your sources to prevent stuttering and tearing artefacts. * picture mode – technicolour expertoled light 88contrast 89brightness 54h sharpness 10v sharpness 10colour 54tint 0* expert controlsdynamic contrast offsuper resolution   offcolour gamut        autoedge enhancer      offcolour filter            offgamma                    2. 2* white balance – leave as presetcolour temperature – warm 1colour management system – leave as preset. * picture optionsnoise reduction  offmpeg noise        offblack level            lowreal cinema         onmotion eyecare   offtru motion           offaspect ratio settingsaspect ratio16:9just scan        onaudio settings.
    1. I bought this tv after bagging numerous issues with sony led sets. Was getting sick of the issues they have which ate inerrant in the tech. This is a breath of fresh air. I have no regrets after purchasing this screen. The picture quality is outstanding and the system software is very slick. It isn’t mentioned much in reviews, but you can connect a usb thumb stick or external hdd and then record programmes from the tuner. The remote control and user interface are also first class.

Cannot fault the picture – best i have ever seen. However, occasionally, with amazon prime, i only get the surround sound (what should come out of rear speakers) from the tv. If i change to another video stream, it normally corrects itself. Also, the ‘all 4’ and itv hub are impossible to log in to because the magic pointer doesn’t appear with these apps. I’m sure this will be corrected with a future firmware/software update. Apart from these little niggles, it is a fantastic tv. I would have given it 5 stars had i not experienced these problems. Update: i have since discovered that navigating the all4 and itv hub app require the use of the ‘cursor ring’ buttons and not the magic pointer, so , all is good with those apps now.

Stunning picture but slightly flaky software (eg lost all the hd channels so had to rescan). Great interface and love the point and click remote.

    1. Upgraded my existing lg 3d tv to this model. Very easy to install and setup. Like the built in wifi and amazon button on the remote. With 4k media or uhd 4k streaming the picture takes your breath away. Blue plant 2 makes you feel really immersed in the experience. Highest quality construction with an alloy cast and machined stand rather than plastic. The six nations rugby looks amazing. Can’t recommend this tv highly enough.

    1. I have always wanted an oled tv, however the price was a little steep for me, so i shopped around extensively before settling for second best. I opted for a 55″ samsung qled tv, it had a lovely picture and was great for gaming. However the black levels and viewing angles were poor, 2 things that really matter to me. I was happy enough with the tv but it developed dead pixels after just 3 weeks, so i returned it for a sony xe9005. This was another medium to high end tv, however the android os is dreadful, the game mode didn’t work properly, causing skipped frames and stuttering (set to game mode with all image processing features turned off) and the backlight was also faulty, it pulsed like a heart beat. These were the only other options for me in my budget and i had been exceptionally unlucky, but i didn’t want to risk getting the same set again in case they had the same faults. I returned the sony and thought screw it, i’ll spend that bit extra and go for the oled like i originally wanted to. I think it was just ‘meant to be’. I should have just gone for it in the first place as it really does blow the other two tvs out of the water.

    1. To get the most out of it you need to be able to watch hd or 4k program’s. Anything in hd such as blue planet or nat geo hd look stunning. Also upgraded my netflix to get hd/4k and it was worth the extra £3. Amazon prime in 4k such as the grand tour look fantastic. Its not cheap but you will be glad you bought it.

    1. No complaints about the tv itself, it’s phenomenal. The remote on the other hand doesn’t feel premium, it’s cheap and plasticy, creaks while being used, and there’s no lights on the buttons for viewing in the dark, in fact it’s the same magic remote i got with a cheaper 40″ led model.

    1. As many people have said the picture on this tv is staggeringly good. I had a 4 year old 4k set but it does not come close to this one in terms of definition. If you want to see something truly spectacular that fully justifies my comments catch the blue planet in uhd on bbc i player (which is included as an app on the set) while it is still available.

  37. So i have this tv and i found picture settings “oled55b7v best tv picture settings” (in google) they made a big difference to the picture, only think i changed was the oled light as i like it a little brighter than these settings give. Picture is out of this world when watching 4k hdr and i do love this tv and would recommend it to anyone. I was also surprised by the sound on the tv. For such a thin the tv the sound if good. Now i do use a sound system but i was still surprised. The use of the tv is easy, bad points (if you want to nit pick)the power cable is connected to the tv and is very short. The cable can be removed but you have to take of a cover off and it has a strange connection to the tv so would not be able to replace the power cable for a longer unless lg supply one (which they don’t). This means i need to run a power extension code (as don’t want to cut the power cable and invalidate any warranty). Also you may find this model b7 with this stand make the tv lean back a slit bit(1-2cm) where the c7 is straight not a big issue for me as the tv is going to be wall mounted. Some apps do not support the magic remote mouse cursor (mainly the catch up apps, bbc, ch5 itv hub and so on) so have to user the arrow keys.
