Philips 4900 series 4K UHD Slim LED TV – LED TVs, Over all good TV. To get the most out of this

Compensated £270 for this tv and the difference is night and working day. The photo is unbelievable, the seem is epic, really simple to use. For the cost i won’t be able to assume there’s a much better tv.

To get the most out of this you have to to start with obtain a modest update from the phillips web-site here,[.once the update is done you have ful hdmi and wifi dongle support. The wifi is for online freeview channels and does not support any smart tv apps (no netflex, amazon prime etc). You will need to play with the picture settings to get it looking good. I turned some enhancements off or down. Oh and the menu systm is not good and for some settings you need to go 4+ clicks deep to find them. The sd upscalling is a bit pants and can seem slightly pixelating and a bit blured. Hd looks great though which is fine for me as i mainly watch on demand tv which is hd anyway. Oh and when watching a hd channel the tv will sometimes go blank for a split second. ]

Good tv in phrases of photo the two at 4k streaming and hd. Could be in ecomode when started out so the image may well seem dim but can effortlessly improve this. Didn’t have to have to obtain any updates unless of course for freeview which provides the most current channels. With the 4 hdmi slots and two usbs the fact that it isn’t sensible tends to make no distinction as almost everything else covers these functionalities (sky+hd, ps, xbox, hardrive, chromecast) and much speedier. No motion blur when actively playing the ps4 and xbox one particular (future, driveclub, fifa and cod). Configurations are simple to use and details each and every screens functionality evidently. Sound is great and once again you can perform with the configurations but i felt no will need. Loud enough, distinct, sharp and has depth rather than becoming tinny. I hardly at any time use the audio bar with this set.

“Over all good TV. To get the most out of this , Sharp picture and great for Gaming, Good value UltraHD TV”

Fantastic tv, l am joyful wih it, cost was superior at 279, ps4 games do look great on it, hi def is also very good, the photo on hd freeview does go blank for a handful of seconds now and then, as explained prior to standard freeview is crappy photo smart, but netflix, and primary are great, pleased with tv for that price, its extremely gentle, but does reflect from the display screen, would propose it while, have not tried using 4k however, but thumbs up so far bought ten may possibly 2016.

Updating the firmware was a bit of a faff with a memory stick but got there in the finish. Took a while to operate out how to change the numbers to letters in get to input my wi-fi password. I am acquiring utilized to the ‘cheap’ emotion menu system. The uhd image high quality is wonderful, however. It works excellent with appletv2, specifically 4k content on youtube and netflix. It would make all my ps4 game titles appear incredible. It really is not a ‘smart’ tv but it would not need to have to be. For the cash, this is an excellent tv. I have been utilizing it for a number of months now with no troubles other than the intermittent black display screen ‘flicker’ when seeing hd tv channels via the aerial. For every other application it has executed faultlessly. I bought mine at argos the place it’s rather a bit less expensive.

  1. Great tv while it lasted but 5 months after warranty expired it stopped turning on. Seller argos uk and manufacturer didn’t want to know unless i spent as much as the tv cost on getting and independent fault report. The tv was wall mounted in the office and rarely used which was the most annoying thing as it had clocked up very few hours turned on.

Reading the other reviews is very misleading, this tv may have a good picture but it’s not future proof and useless for games consoles. It doesn’t have any component or scart connections (needed for xbox 360 and almost all previous games consoles), isn’t “smart”, has very basic functionality (it does have a game mode very well hidden), and honestly feels cheap. Also, it’s not made by philips, it’s made under license. A bad purchase and i would not recommend under any circumstances.

Great tv in terms of picture both at 4k streaming and hd. Might be in ecomode when started so the picture might seem dark but can easily change this. Didn’t need to download any updates unless for freeview which adds the latest channels. With the 4 hdmi slots and 2 usbs the fact that it isn’t smart makes no difference as everything else covers these functionalities (sky+hd, ps, xbox, hardrive, chromecast) and much faster. No motion blur when playing the ps4 and xbox one (destiny, driveclub, fifa and cod). Settings are easy to use and details each screens function clearly. Sound is great and again you can play with the settings but i felt no need. Loud enough, clear, sharp and has depth rather than being tinny. I hardly ever use the sound bar with this set.
