Q ACOUSTICS Q Acoustics BT3 tooth Active Bookshelf Speakers – These speakers are excellent. Well balanced sound and have nice clarity

If they are what you want and you get good cables, they are capable of good things. . I have given the bt3 five stars but there are mixed feelings under the surface. Firstly even with a reasonable dac like the meridian explorer feeding 44. 1khz music, the bt3 can sound lacking. They do tv great, but for critical music listening they are a bit weak. However buy a quality audio cable like the qed reference audio j2p, and the bt3 start spring into life. Add a decent piece of speaker cable to connect them and even better. (edit: if you change dac and use a chord mojo as i do now, you will not believe your ears. )basically then the basic cheap black £1.

One of the best audio all in one solutions that i have ever purchased. . I was torn between the bt3 and the bose soundtouch 20, i did a side by side listening test of both products and the bt3 was the winner, a much truer more accurate sound with no muddy base. Also the addition of a optical audio input and aptx bluetooth made the bt3 a clear winner. I have mine connected to a lg 4k tv and the sound fills the room with ease, connect my macbook va aptx bluetooth and sound from the tv stops and the music kicks in instantly.

These will make you fall in love with your old and new records/music again. These will make you fall in love with your old and new records/music again. Great – design – good sound for the money.

Not sure you would get better at this price. Brought for kitchen/garden bbq’s. Bright at first but after a little run in they produce a nice rounded sound with good clarity. A little bass shy for my taste however i knew with the sub-out i could hook my sub for party’s etc. The gloss finish looks slick. Very happy and super fast delivery from peter tyson.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Ears left and right have it!
  • Not blown out of the water!
  • Great Little Speaker for Near-Field Listening

Great sound and build quality , bass louder than expected.

Brilliant pair of speakers all you need to listen to all your devices very happy highly recommend.

Fantastic sounding speakers, deserves every penny.

(they have an in-built amplifier) are well made and beautifully finished. Although they support bluetooth. These active speakers (they have an in-built amplifier) are well made and beautifully finished. Although they support bluetooth, they have an optical input and a standard 2-pin phono input as well. They are advertised as an upgrade to a tv sound bar, but their quality extends way beyond this simple use. I would call them hi-fi speakers due to their even balance and superb reproduction. For those of you playing hi-res music, the internal dac is limited to 48khz. I have a pair of wireless devialet silver phantoms, which cost 20 times more and sound probably twice as good. In short, these active speakers at £199 are an absolute bargain. If only q acoustics would produce a floor standing variant with an ess sabre dac, they would corner the market in active speakers.

For such compact speakers the performance is stunning. They outperformed much larger speakers, we used them for a party and the volume and clarity was really good. Connecting to bluetooth is a very simple process.

Great speakers, first class device, fast delivery, can’t ask for more.

Great little speaker for near-field listening. Heard of the value-for money reputation of q accoustics for a long time and i must say i am thoroughly impressed. It delivers quite a good sound in this price tag and is very easy-to-use thanks to various method of connection and the remote controller. A word of warning though, this speaker:1. Is better put straight up rather than sideway if you are putting it directly on the desk with no stands (tweeter sitting too near the desk will muddle the sound)2. Is strictly for near-field listening (.

    1. A great value pair of speakers offering good quality sound and connectibility. Extremely happy with these speakers for the £170 paid. Highly recommended for those looking to either upgrade the sound from their tv, or also for those looking for a simple hifi option using the bluetooth link from mobile devices. The sound quality is far better then what i have heard from the sound bars i have trialled, particularly in the lower mid and bass frequencies. Blue tooth works very well with connection still solid from a connecting room. Build quality in the gloss white is great. I would certainly buy again if needed and the experience has meant i am looking at other q acoustics products.

Great looking speakers and all the connectivity (blue tooth etc) works well but so far i’m disappointed with the sound. Annoying levels of scratchy treble which i’ve had to equalise out (on itunes) to make listening bearable. So far orchestral music sounds better on them than any 1970s – 2017s rock, which is what i listen too mostly. Not enough attack or presence with vocals. Of course the speakers may well play in with time and become much better balanced in that respect.

      1. If you love music you’ll love these. . First of all, i am an audiophile. Not someone who spends all their wages on speakers but someone who definitely appreciates good quality audio. I have tried various speakers on my pc and as i work from home and spend all day sitting at my pc i always want something good to listen to. I had a pair of altec lansing mx5021 which were my go to for years, however the subwoofer developed this annoying hum when in standby and the transformer inside was always hot which made me decide eventually to get rid of it. I then bought a set of bose lifestyle speakers which sounded great but did not have the presence of the altec’s due to the diminutive size of the speakers. They perform valiantly but are just not for me. They now languish in the corner of my office waiting for me to ebay them. I did loads of research and narrowed it to klipsch promedia, bowers and wilkins mm1 and the q acoustics.

    1. I’ve found that to get the best sound quality from them, set the source vol low (in my case a pc) and then crank up the speaker vol. The only drawback is the remote, cheap and not very responsive.

Read may reviews and really hoped this would be awesome, sound: looking to upgrade my denon dm31 with mission speakers, this sounds great, i would say comparable to the denon, a bit louder but not a huge difference. So sound is great for the price and would recommend them for thatbluetooth: this lost connection to my samsung galaxy s7 even if only a few meters away, if there is a windows or walls it cut the signal immediately, i have some cheap kitsound headphones this does not happen with themi would recommend a google chromecast audio if you want to use these wirelessly.

Cheap remote ruins the experience. Speakers are great but the remote is unforgivably bad. It’s cheap and nasty and unresponsive. This is the part of the system that i actually ‘interact’ with so it bugs me enormously.

Ears left and right have it. A lot of power when required too – 50 watts per channel. Antonio forcione and marc antione sound fanatstic on guitar as does guthrie govan and jazz blues sound fine too like joe bonomassa. Very easy to set up and use. But issues with win10 connecting. 9 connects instantly as does my iphone.

For the size and money, these speakers are incredible. They offer the perfect combination of a range of input options (including bluetooth, optical , 3. 5mm and twin-phono) and large speaker sound. Compared to smaller units like audioengine’s a2+, sound is more nuanced with better bass and a wide sound stage (from my experience testing with games, blu-ray and music on an asus essence stx ii). They’re not the smallest speakers, and will stand out on a desk, but it’s more than worth the tradeoff. Build quality is exceptional, with good attention to detail (integrated dac and rotating logos so they look natural if used horizontally). All in all, if you’re looking for a bluetooth dock, computer speakers or tv speakers, you can’t go wrong.

The bluetooth sounds great, as does the optical in and rca inputs. Sound great for any application and a sub can be added for any extra bass. They sound perticularly great through my audio technica lp5 turntable giving me a brilliant budget bedroom set up where i can easily switch between lp’s, my phone and my laptop inputs instantly. They also look great in person. Best £200 you will spend audio wise.

    1. Solid units, great quality and finish. Remote could have used a little more work and the position of the ir receiver could be better placed on the speakers themselves. I often find myself lifting arm up high to get a signal through. No complaints about sound quality, i’m no audiophile but i do have a certain expectation which is satisfied with these. Running them on spiked speaker stands (no fillings). My personal use case is from tv via optical spdif. No experience of bluetooth/analogue phono usage.

Brilliant bluetooth speakers. For connection to a bluetooth device these are cracking. The sound quality is so far ahead of any single bluetooth single sound box. Not they are not battery powered, no they are not mobile (i have the excellent bose soundlink mini for that). But for connection to something like an echo dot to provide full, loud, smooth, well defined proper room filling stero sound just get some, stop messing about . Yes there is a wire from the main unit to the second speaker for those who have a cable phobia so be aware. Also bluetooth take priority so if something is playing from the 3. 5mm input and a paired bluetooth device comes into range it will try to swap over (would have been good to have an option on that or just make it user selectable input). But once you use these any single box speakers are going to sound a poor substitute.
