Rega Planar 1 Turntable Gloss – Excellent entry level table

. Best lp system i’ve had and used. Well made, simple and fantastic value.

I spent a lot of time reading up on turntables and the rega p1 always came out on top in it’s budget class. Well built, nice finish, no fuss, discrete power button, and even the dust cover is nice and rigid and weighty. Requires no set up at all apart from sliding a round weight on to the end of the tone arm, the p1 doesn’t even come with any notable instructions, as it doesn’t need any. Sounds good playing vinyl that hasn’t seen the light of day for a generation.

Excellent turntable, easy to assemble. Excellent turntable, easy to assemble. Great reproduction of course but requires a suitable pre-amp. Only downside is that the hinges on the lid appear a little flimsy, but only time will tell if they last. Here are the specifications for the Rega Planar 1 Turntable Gloss:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • New RB110 tonearm with bias force preset
  • Rega Carbon cartridge is factory fitted
  • 24v low noise synchronous motor
  • Re-designed brass main bearing
  • 23mm phenolic platter

What a superb turntable this is,superbly made with excellent sound quality.

Great quality for the price. Great quality for the price. Good start in the world of vinyl. Much better build quality than the damaged project primary phono i received previously.

Absolutely stunning build, design and sound quality. An absolute bargain for the price. ‘in the air tonight’ sounds leagues above the cd/mp3 version.Great rythmn, super clear top end to rival cd, and fast punchy bass. And amazingly it’s made in southend on sea. Fyi mines sat on a proper stand and sent through a ‘vintage’ audiolab 8000a amp which has a great photo stage.

Excellent entry level table. It took me 6 months to make my final decision however i settled on the rega planar 1 in gloss white. It’s an excellent entry level table if you are looking for something that won’t ruin your record collection and do the music justice. The motor is quiet and the finish is of a high quality.
