Teac A-R630 Stereo Amplifier – Nice quality and overall response on several types of music

Nice quality, could do with optical audio in-out.

This product is excellent value, just what i needed to replace my jvc in my small studio. Teac is a great make and would highly recommend this product.

Nice quality and overall response on several types of music. Nice quality and overall response on several types of music, but lacks punch. The amp is very well built and the interface is what it is supposed to be: easy, and reliable: no need for double clicks, or hard pressing. When you take it out of the box you get a machine that looks like a tank, with splashes of glamour, like the gold lettering and circles around the main buttons. It’s almost a plug and play, as it is supposed to be. The sound (plugged to kef q80 speakers) is very clean on every type of music. I listen to rock, jazz, progrock, metal, classic, techno, dance, pop. I even listened to a paco the lucia concert on lp, and it goes prime. And i don’t have a phono pre-amp, my turntable has an integrated 35db pre-amp on line. This is a good amp, good value great sound.

Good sound on vinyl but struggles on digital input. On the large size, and annoyingly defaults to feed i don’t use when switched on, good sound on vinyl but struggles on digital input, sounds ‘thin’ overall though better than my 40 year old pioneer amp.

  2. For the price, this anp certainly delivers. For the price, this anp certainly delivers. Have just built up my new hifi separates, and with this amp and wharfedale 110 speakers, the music sound is clear and crisp from the bass to the treble :).

    1. Great mainly because of its solid state switching. Great product for use in my recording studio where i am forever switching from one input source to another. Usually my monitor/recording amps last me a year or so before their rotary input selector switches start getting dodgy – but this little beauty has solid state switching. Good quality sound too – highly recommended.

Great sound, works well with all my other separates, just a bit bulky for my stacking unit.

    1. I bought this on behalf of my church to amplify an organ keyboard and feeds into a pair of tannoy mercury loudspeakers. Excellent performance and good substitute for a small church pipe organ. One small point – on switch on, it always defaults to the tuner input. I would have preferred it to default to the last input selected. Not really a gripe and doesn’t detract from the five star rating.
